4/17/05: we're so fortunate in that life does allow us to have "do overs" on some things. It is now my time for a "do-over" I have decided that the 1/2 marathon was such a great experience that I will do it again in 2006, and this time I will not be closed out because of pacing.

My plan for this week:

Call Y to get retrained on weight equipment
Drink my water
Walk 10 miles over the week
Call DVC to get registered for the 1/2 marathon

Hiya!!! :wave2: :wave2: You sound like you have a good plan. Best of luck on your journey!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

It's been 10 days since your post. Have you gotten your list accomplished??

I LOVE do-overs and have needed many over the years. :p Best wishes for a new beginning. :sunny:

I've found half-marathons to be addicting. I won't be able to join you in WDW in 2006 but know that I'll be cheering for you all the way! I was just looking at the new course layout online yesterday. It looks like you'll be in and out of the Magic Kingdom earlier. I just KNOW you'll do great!

Wow, life can kick you in the teeth. These last days have been rough--my grandmother was sent to the hospital two times, still remaining in critical condition. While I was sitting with my mother at the hospital, mom got light headed and sweaty. She went to the ER and was immediately admitted, and sent to a regional hospital for a heart cath. She did not have a heart attack, but has had a viral infection that has damaged her heart--it is currently pumpng at 50% capacity. She was released today after 4 days in cardiac care. Cardiologist is very hopeful that she can resume some of her normal activites, with caution, and hopes to repair some of the heart damage over time. Very scary, and nerve wracking, being torn between two hospitals.

I did accomplish some on my list: I did walk for 10 miles the week after my post. I did call the Y, but had to postpone my scheduled appointment because of my hospital duties. I did drink my water. I was emailed the form to apply for the 1/2 marathon.

This next week: Reschedule my Y appointment; get in 97 minutes of exercise (I'm doing the May exercise challenge); drink my water; make a final determination of the 1/2 marathon (I keep waffling).

Thanks for the support!

Oh, Reds...I'm sorry. I'll pray for her. Get more of your list done when you get a chance. Doe and I are here to wake you up and get you back on track. Right, Doe??

You can do it!!! In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity!

Onward and downward (you can do it, I've been there. Success is how far you bounce back when you hit bottom, and I hope you bounce in to the clouds!)!!!! Have a great weekend!

I am the EXPERT at getting off track thru stressful times, but you CAN stay on track. Just take one day at a time. Try to take some time to take care of you - easier said than done, I know.

I'll keep you and yours in my prayers!

Good Luck!

Back on track. This is day 3 of induction. So far so good.

I am drinking my water. I am staying on program. I have lost 6 pounds since last weekend.

Just starting Day 5. I hav followed the plan thus far. DD and I gardnened for a couple of hours, then went out and walked the track.

I weighed in again today--During induction, I do this so I can be motivated--this time it isn't working--I have ne't lost anything since my Thursday weigh-in, but I haven't gained either. I will keep OP.

WAY TO GO NCREDDING!!!!

I'm so proud of you for getting back on track. I too am easily distracted, and I'm also quite an emtional eater, so I understand how you can get "off track", but you're back now, so keep it up!!! :)

Did a cheat yesterday, but planned it. It did cost me a 1/2 pound, but I am OK with that.

Continued to garden with DD. I feel like I must be burning calories, since my muscles are so sore.

Still sticking to program. Scale recorded more loss today. Walked yesterday after supper.

Going over to update my signature.

Had a bubble up on the scale-not sure why, except I did eat a larger salad than usual and less meat. I am OK with it. (I will not spiral off into depression and overeating because of one blip).

I've done OK with the diet. I am proud of my exercising though!! Lots of walking and physical activity.

for me it has been easier to consider this a lifestyle change (because it is) and not a diet...if I was just 'dieting' i'd go back to my old way eventually...and I'm NOT interested in doing that....just a thought!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!

Jen

Glad you're getting back on track! How is your mom doing?

Hang in there.

goldcupmom & joelyfaithsmom: Thanks for the words of encouragement. Mom is doing much better--excellent reports from her cardiologist and regular doctor. Cardiologist seems very hopeful that with her lifestyle changes, diet modification and medicine, she can repair her heart to where it functions at least 70% capacity. She tires easily, and gets frustrated with her limitations, but she is doing great modifiying her go-go mentality.

Sorry I haven't been here, Reds. You've been doing awesome getting back on track. I know howya feel. My grandpa will be having heart surgery. Keep up the awesome job!

The "a little late but better than never losing dance for REDS!!!" :cheer2: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Only 12 days until my vacation--looking forward to it sooooo much!! Now, what have I done towards my health since my last post? I have been walking and exercising almost every day. I have not been eating appropriately--lots of junk. I did send off my registration for the 1/2 marathon in January at WDW. I have my ressies for the 1/2 marathon. My plan until vacation--try to eat more healthy--reach for fruit or veggies, instead of candy for snacking. Continue to walk. Very simple things until my trip.
