NCL Breakaway in Major Winter Storm

That's what I was thinking, and watching this video I can see why the passengers were thinking the same thing. It's not like NCL didn't know it was going to be stormy.

Cruiselines always say they weren't expecting it to be so bad. I live out west and all I heard about for days was the cyclone bomb that was going to pack hurricane force winds. If anything they over dramatize so why do cruiselines always act like they were caught off guard?

And that's the difference between a cruise ship and an ocean liner. I would be horrified to pay a cruise fare and get this. On the other hand, it looks like a kind of cool experience that you could dine out on for the rest of your life.

We almost booked a cruise from NYC to Florida & Bahamad for New Years.
I'm glad we didn't now because who would have know it would be record breaking cold everywhere including Florida during this time. Not my idea of a sun vacation.
But the ship we wanted to sail - Anthem - is actually well designed for cruising during the winter with plenty of indoor pool space and tons of activities on board such as roller skating and bumper cars. That's why we were considering it.
I'm not sure about Breakaway.

I'm wondering if they were able to repair all the damages in time for the cruise leaving today. That's a lot of water to pump out, glass to sweep up and replace, shower doors to replace....

I wonder the same thing. Just drying the carpets alone would take a while in the cold wet air of NYC, even with big fans.

Holy cow!!! I couldn't even imagine that for 5 minutes let alone 2 days.
