Of course. The troops are supposed to follow orders. We can't have insubordination among the ranks, can we? I support them, I want them to succeed and meet their objectives. If they pulled out or started to disobey, that would be the worst thing to happen in Iraq. Now that we're there, our troops have to do their jobs well. And I support them in that. What I disagree with is sending them there in the first place.

It's not the paradox you seem to think.

I don't have family in the military currently (they're all retired/discharged), but I have family members who fought in Vietnam and WWII. They don't talk about their experiences.

I don't think we can prevent the media from reporting what happens to our troops, nor should we. Freedom of the press is important, even if you hate the story that's being reported. And no, I don't think the troops are in any more danger. I'm not blind, I see that the insurgents hate us so much that they will stop at nothing. I don't think this video will change that.

I do hope if your DH is sent overseas, he comes back to you safe.

I'm not on the left - in fact, pretty far from it. The airing of this does not put our troops in anymore danger. What are the insurgents going to do? Kidnap and behead people? Nope, tehy've got that covered. Car bombs? Nope, already there. Guerilla warfare? On top of it. Fly planes full of people into office buildings? Oops, got that one too. It doesn't change anything. Do you really believe that someone who is willing to strap a bomb to their body in order to blow you and them up is going to suddenly like you no matter what? The converse is true, too. They hate us and they're not going to stop hating us. End of story.
