NB Loses 7 teen Basketball players in a horrible accident...

Bathhurst High School lost 7 baskeball players and a teacher when their van fishtailed and hit a trackertrailer on their way home from a game Friday night. Please say a prayer for the families, friends and the greater community.

I can't imagine what these people are going through....

I was absolutely in shock when I heard about this! I think it's fair to say that's it's hit the whole province very hard. I'm still somewhat in disbelief. I hope that all the families know how many people are praying for them and holding them in their hearts.

Tears stream down my cheeks everytime I watch the news and see stories about this tragedy. Those poor people, the kids all hurting. Breaks my heart.

Our school is wearing all red and black for the funerals tomorrow....

This has to be one of the saddest events to happen in our province. The students were so young and had such bright futures. The community has also lost a beloved teacher. Even though I don't know any of the families personally, I ache for their loss.

Having lost a son in a car accident, I can relate somewhat to this sad event. Our prayers go out to all.

I saw the funeral on CBC News.
Everytime someone got up to speak about each one of them I burst out in tears.
It's just heartbreaking.

I'm still upset about this. I can't seem to shake it. I get an eery feeling every time I see a van that looks remotely like the one they were in.

I am from New Brunswic (Saint John) but living in Ontario. I keep up with the SJ paper and was so heartbroken to read that news I have a few friends from the Bathurst area.

As a Mom to children who play sports and travel to sporting events with others I can really empathize with all the families envolved in this accident.

I too was overwhelmed with magnitude of the loss. I hope the families left behind can learn to cope with life the way it is now.
