Nay on Value Resorts?

Mill, have you thought of doing the family suites at AS Music? It looks like they might be a good solution for your family, and maybe cheaper than two rooms?

Just a thought.

Just an FYI

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

I've stayed at both Deluxe level and at Value level. Strangely, I've never tried a mod before. I'm correcting that starting tomorrow -- I'm staying at CSR for a few days (Buzz2001's influence!)

Both have their charms. I find the values can be overwhelming at very busy times.. so I would probably choose to not stay there during a peak travel period.

For the most part, I also avoid peak travel periods ... so this is rarely an issue for me.

While I have seen unruly teenagers at the two levels of resorts I've stayed at, a quick call to the front desk to request security bring things back to order usually does the trick with minimal waiting time; in my experience.

I've not stayed at the value resorts but I have friends who have. My friends loved it because she was able to get all the benefits of staying on disney property without having to pay for the frills of staying at a mod or deluxe. She didn't spend much time at the hotel, spent most of the time at the parks and thought it would be foolish to spend more for a place she would only be sleeping or resting at....

Me, I kind of like the deluxes and the mods....but I would try out an All Star sometime...just not during the Pop Warner week in DEC.....um...NO THANK YOU!

I've stayed up and down the scale -- from Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge. I haven't stayed at the Poly yet...someday!!

Honestly, I loved all of the resorts. Ft. Wilderness is my fav, just because I love the grounds, I love how peaceful it is, going to the movie at night, riding bikes with the kids, taking the boat to the MK, etc.

I love Wilderness Lodge in the winter time. It just has that "feel" to it...especially at Christmas.

I love the moderates, especially Coronado Springs...it is so peaceful, the pool is awesome (not quite so peaceful, though...;) ), they have a hot tub, and funny bartenders at the pool bar. POR and POFQ are peaceful, too. Plus, they have the boat that goes to DTD.

But, ASMo...now, that was just plain fun. Fortunately we must have chosen a good time to go, because there were no loud, screaming kids, large groups of cheerleaders, or swarms of teenagers. :) Just families having a good time. The pool is huge, and my boys didn't miss having a slide. Plus, I think of all the resorts we stayed at on property, it had the best food court.

So, each vacation is different with different goals. Luckily, Disney has a resort for those different types of vacations we want. :)

We went to ASM in 2003 for a ten day stay. The hotel itself is pretty nice; clean, quiet, nice decore, blah, blah, blah. All the value resorts were odviously a very popular choice that year! TOO popular if you ask me, making it way too crowded for my taste! But I think if you can avoid the food court, and bus service to and from the parks, or you're just willing to bare with those l-o-n-g lines for a great value, I'd recomend the place to anyone.

We always stay in the budget resorts mostly use the room for sleepin an showers once in awhile the pool but usually not every day.

Long line for bus never been a problem we sit in the parks for about 45 mins after the park closes an relax then go get in line for the bus. It's fun to sit an watch every rush out of a park they supposedly loved so well during the day. We glad they do tho cause it makes our time sittin waitin for the crowd to thin out much more enjoyable when we do go get in line for bus.

NEVER stood on bus either don't believe in it. We step aside let the others behind us on the bus if they desire and wait for next bus and pretty much get our pick of the seats.

Stayed at POFQ 1 time bus service was TERRIBLE the pool was very crowded and noisy and we heard the toliets flush the same there as we do at the budgets. Been to the budget resorts many times the same week we was at POFQ over all the crowd and the noise was about the same.

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

Some guests found that a fan or white noise machine helps them sleep better.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.
