Hello,

I'm planning my first trip to Disneyland Paris ;) I've been to DLR and WDW before, so I know the Disney parks - but traveling to a country where english is not the first language can be confusing... or so I think :p

We're planning on staying 5 nights - but I'm not sure whether we'll do a split stay with maybe 3 nights at Sejours et Affaires Serris Rive Gauche and 2 nights in a hotel closer to central Paris. What would you recommend? We would like 2 or 3 days at the parks and then 2 days in central Paris seeing and doing all the tourist things.

The thing that confuses me the most is transport! We're not renting a car, so we get around be train, bus and metro. The hotel we're looking at has a free shuttle and is very close to Val d'Europe RER train station which is only 1 stop from DLP, right?
I've searched online and found a site explaining the different ticket options in english - but I still need to get some things sorted out:

- We're planning on arriving a Monday and leaving a Saturday, and we'll arrive and depart from either CDG or ORY airport. From what I've read my best option is the Navigo card. From what I understand I can travel to and from the airport, the hotel, Disneyland and central Paris with this ticket, is that correct? Is seems that it will only cost €35,60 + €5 fee for the entire 6 days?
Am I missing something, or can I buy the Navigo card when I arrive at the airport and then use the RER and metro in zone 1-5 which includes CDG, ORY, central Paris, Disneyland and Val d'Europe (where the hotel is)??

Really looking forward to hear from you :)

Yes, just a stop from Val d'Europe to Disney (5 minutes).

The Navigo card is the best option for you (It would be a problem, for example if you were there from Friday to Tuesday). Yo can buy the card at the airport (1-5 zones, 35,4 euros), and no, you're not missing anything. Don't forget to take a picture with you for the card! :)

Hello Rebekka and welcome to the forum :cheer2:

I'll answer the transport bit for you ;)

Val d'Europe is one stop from DLP so less than 2 minutes on the train and around 40 minutes from Chatelet les Halles which is the closest stop for Notre Dame, the Louvre and most of central Paris.

You can use the Navigo Decouverte zones 1-5 for all your transport except the Orly Val so if you come into Orly you'll need another ticket on top.

It's 35.40€ for zones 1-5 and 5€. Bring a photo with you to stick on the card.

If you are planning on doing a split stay it could work out cheaper buying separate tickets depending on how much time you spend in Paris and what you are planning on seeing but for 5 days I'd doubt it and at least with the Navigo you would be sorted. :)

You're right about the OrlyVal. But, you always can take the OrlyBus (A bit slower, but it's included).

True - The Orly bus goes to Denfert Rochereau and from there you can join the RER B which goes to Chatelet Les Halles from where you change onto the RER A and on to DLP.

The problem is with the buses from both Orly and Roissy they often get caught up in traffic so it all depends on when your flight lands to see if they are worth it or not. :)

That's great ;) thank you for replying!
If I change my dates and maybe arrive midweek, will a 5-day multi ticket for zone 1-5 be the best option then? As far as I know it works the same way, with the same zones as the Novigo, but it is just more expensive?

Thanks :) 40 minutes to central Paris is not far.... Can I take the RER from Val d'Europe direct to Chatelet les Halles, or will I have to change to another train or metro along the way?
If possible I think I'll stick with the Navigo card, since we'll be traveling between the airport too, and the tickets seems to be at least €17 one way, so I think the card will turn out the cheapest.

Oh, that's great. What is the best/easiest airport to get to and from - from central Paris and Val d'Europe? And how long does it take from each airport?

Thank you all for replying so fast!! I know I can always count on the Disboards :thumbsup2

You're right again. I always try to avoid them, especially when I'm going to the airport, because I never know how long in advance I need to take the bus. It's much easier and relaxing with trains, I think. ::yes::

RER A goes direct from VdE to Chatelet Les Halles

If you did a midweek trip (thur-mon) it could work out cheaper to buy different tickets, it really does depend on what you are doing - for example with a Navigo zones 1-2 the weekend the whole network is dezonned so on Sat and Sun you can travel to zone 5 without paying a supplement.

Once you have decided your dates/days in Paris and DLP and if you are changing hotels come back and we will work out the transport options ;)

If you are starting at DLP the closest airport is CDG as it in the North of Paris where as Orly is in the South

Oh.... okay ;) guess I just answered my own question about the airports. CDG airport seems like the best option, since I can use the Navigo card and I can take the train instead of the bus.
Is it also that complicated to get to and from CDG from Val d'Europe?

Agree. It will depend on your plans. You have the Paris Visite option for 5 days, but is's expensive (61,25 euros), and it's usually cheaper if you buy single tickets, or Mobilis to go to Paris...

I prefer CDG when I go to Disney.

Okay....
We've deciced not to do a split stay, so we'll stay at Sejours et Affaires, Serris.
We haven't clearly decided the dates yet - but we're thinking 30/6 (thuesday) thru 5/6 (saturday) or maybe 29/6-4/6.
So I guess the Navigo card is the best and cheapest option in my case.... Since we will probably take the RER 1 stop when we go to Disneyland (2 or 3 days) and use the RER to get to Paris (2 days).

The plane tickets are about 60-80 euro cheaper (for all 3 of us) if we fly into ORY. I just don't want the hassle with the bus you were talking about, we want to go by train.
With the navigo card we can travel to CDG with train, but not to ORY.

1) Would you fly into ORY and save 60-80 euro (3 people) and then just by seperate train tickets? Or are the tickets almost the same as the saving?

2) Another quick question. I usually go to Disneyland Resort Anaheim and stay off-site. In Anaheim I usually don't stay at the parks all day, I take a afternoon break at the hotel - we also did this is WDW staying on-site. Is it possible in DLP? I mean if Val d'europe is only 5 minutes from Disneyland and the hotel is only 5 minutes from the station, it won't be a problem to go and rest at the hotel, but is there something I need to know that makes it difficult.

3) Park hopping in DLP, is it almost like in Anaheim where the parks are facing each other and it takes 3 minutes to get from one park to another or is it more like WDW where you have to take the bus?

Thank you again for helping me out! :thumbsup2

ok let's have a look at this ;)

Orly to Val d'Europe will take you around 75-90 minutes. Orlyval to Paris will cost 12.05€ from there you will have to come out of the RER B at Chatelet and re enter with your Navigos to take RER A to Val d'Europe.

You can also get the Orly Val to Antony which costs 9€ and come out and reenter the RER there. If you did this it means that once you get to Chatelet you just change platforms and there will be a lot less people at Antony.

Either way you have to come out of the system and back in again changing tickets or when you get to Val d'Europe your Navigo ticket won't let you out and if you are ticket checked you will have an on the spot fine.

2 - No pb to go to the hotel and rest like you say it is very close to the parks and close to the station. You also have the shopping center where you can wander and relax a bit.

3 - The parks are next to each other - It's like 5 minutes gate to gate :goodvibes
