Navigator App/Wave Phones

Hi Everyone, do the CM's in the kids clubs use the Navigator App to keep in contact with you regarding your children, or do they only use the wave phones?

My son was 10 on our last cruise and since he has a decommissioned phone (no SIM) that gets wifi, we loaded the app onto it so he could send us a text when he wanted to leave. (No we don't give him checkout privileges yet) Worked very well. If the kids are old enough to be responsible for such a device, even an iPod works.
