Ask your Dr. about scopolamine patches. They are prescription and you wear them behind your ears. My DH and I used them on our winter Disney cruise to Mexico when things got a bit rough and they worked great. Didn't really make us sleepy but major dry mouth!
Be careful with the patch though! If you get any of the medicine near your eye, you will have a dialated pupil (from experience, I know this).
Also, not only the dry mouth, but constipation is another side effect.
The patch does work great though! I used it for 2 different trips to Disneyland. Our first trip to DL I didn't use it, and honestly, I was not a very good vacationer. Never did yak, but boy did I have dizziness and a very topsy turvy stomach.
For just plain air travel though, I use Bonine or Dramamine, whatever I have on hand. Airplane travel without medication makes my stomach flip (but again, I don't yak) but betwen the motion sickness medicine, snacking the whole time, and ginger ale I don't have issues.
