My husband is also doing this program and is in the 7th week. His company offered it to 1,000 employees and although he didn't need to lose more than 5 pounds, he wanted to try it.
The first couple days he was an OGRE! He has always been a die hard breakfast eater and on this plan, they suggest you drink 2 8oz glasses of H2Orange instead to stave off hunger for a few (4-6) hours. (H2Orange is 6 parts water to 1 part orange juice. You should drink at least 64 oz per day. That was really hard for him, but now he is fine without eating until lunch time. (I should also mention that he can pretty much eat whatever he wants. You do have to eat around 25-30% protein at each meal and also eat only one food at a time. And avoid sugar. )
If you are eating a piece of baked chicken, mashed potatoes and a vegetable, eat the chicken first, followed by either the vegetable or potatoes. You can't take a bite or 2 of the meat, then a few bites of potatoes and then follow with going back to the meat, etc. as you have a taste sensor in your brain as well as a "full" sensor, and both have to be satisfied with each particular food and if you mix the food, you will never be able to satisfy the sensor. Supposedly. Whatever it is, it does seem to work.
The plan emphasizes eating at a slower pace, chew your food slowly and eat for ten min, rest for 5 min, and eat again for 10 minutes. Put your fork down between bites.
I have to say though the weight has been falling off with very little effort. He is down 12 pounds and should really stop IMO but wants to complete the ten week program.
Needless to say, he will be getting a lot of new clothes this Christmas.
