In case anyone is wondering and might be in the same boat as us (literally), Disney agreed to roll our banked points we were using next week over to 2018 without penalty. The call took all of 10 minutes, one less thing to worry about.

If you happen to be a religious person please pray for Houston, if you aren't then good thoughts are more than welcome too.
 
Our thoughts and Prayers are with our Texas and Louisiana neighbors down south, we open our arms and are here to help up in Bell Country, TX. God Bless!

Yes, call MS. They even unborrowed points last year for us when we left after our first night before Matthew hit. They were glad to get our room for those who were having to stay longer due to cancelled flights. Also, be patient with your points. It was a manual process and took over a week for all my points to be reassigned.

So glad to hear that they did this for you! .... we're not too far from you. In San Antonio, watching all that crazy weather on the news. My SIL lives near 610 and can't leave her house! Definitely praying for Houston and everyone affected.
 

Not DVC, but Facebook post to Tikiman from a Houstonian mentioned that the Poly offered them additional nights at 50% of rack rate since they can't go home now.
It seems some of those extra rooms will help others that can't get back.

Good for you! You guys need all the help you can get. Down here in the Rio Grande Valley, we're all praying for you, many places are collecting relief funds and items for you, and we're prepared to take displaced children into schools and ill into hospitals.
 
Back during Hurricane Francis in '04:
We had a DVC stay scheduled to start the day "Francis" was forecasted to arrive in Fla. DW had checked-in, gotten the room key, started to unpack, I was at work, and once she found out that "she" was actual coming through the WDW area DW decided she wanted to go home. Went back to the front desk, cancelled the stay, and DVC returned all the points - no questions asked.
Turns out I had to work 40 hours straight that work day, so a good thing everything got cancelled.
 
Here is the official policy:
From June 1st to November 30th, in the event a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area, Vero Beach area, Hilton Head Island, Oahu or for the Member's place of residence within 7 days before the scheduled arrival date, the Member may call Member Services prior to check-in to cancel or reschedule, based upon availability, their Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation without any cancellation or modification penalty.

Note: This policy pertains to hurricane warnings only. Other weather advisory levels are handled on a case by case basis and Members should contact Member Services.
From what I've seen they're very lenient with the case by case situations.
 
We made it through without our home flooding, but the area is just like you see on TV. It is just devastation everywhere you look, so very sad. Looking back I'm not sure why I decided to call DVC in the middle of it all but I guess it was the only thing I could control at that moment.

We still aren't sure we will be going, our days have been filled with trying to help in anyway we can...just like every other person down here.
