Went in this am for my daily ressie check and Lo and behold the "new & improved" site is up. The EC reservation page is set up a liitle different. It was a little quirky this morning. kept giving me errors on the 10008615 coupon and changing me from aisle to counter. After about 4X it went through.

I am so used to the old ressie page that I can enter the info with my eyes closed......It felt like I was starting from scratch this morning LOL :teeth:

FYI Rates are still the same.

I tried to get a rate quote today, and there was no space for a coupon ID#. It said Coupon ID, but there was no blank after it to put the number in! Anyone else have this problem?

OK, if I log on with a different browser, I got a line for the coupon ID. But it won't let me change my reward preferneces to rental credits.

georgina,

I think you have to change that by updating your profile.

I can't get into the site at all. It keeps me in an endless loop regarding city/location; says "error on page" and loops me back to the city/location pop-up every time I try to check my rate. Arrgh, since I've heard that rates have gone down!

And it's AWFUL!

It won't even let me fix my profile. Has me registered as wanting airline miles but won't let me switch it to rental credits. I have gotten every kind of error message possible.

I hope they fix it soon.

I tried to book a reservation with National today and it won't accept any coupon code I tried - I hope it is a bug they will fix soon.

Gail, when you tried to make a reservation, did you log in with your Emerald Club number? That's what I do and then it does not accept any coupon codes (I tried clearing cookies etc).

I was just there, logged in under my EA info and all the spaces were available. It still gave me the great rate I have for my 11 day intermediate rental ($218 total). I did try to change my profile to tell it I want rental rewards, but there was no option for that. will have to look again.

UPDATE: I did just log back into Emer.club and clicked on rental awards and it let me change my profile. Now my info says rental awards. But i'm thinking I might have to change my ressies to that it shows it on each reservations....hhhmmmm (I have 3 different ones).

Yes, I logged on with my EC name and password. It allowed coupons, contract codes and product codes.

Oh, I just have to ask this. Why three ressies? If it is for three different trips, I am jealous. :)

Hi Gail, Sorry to say, yes three more trips this year. My spring trip (the empty nester trip--flower and garden), my July trip w/the 10 year old grandson, and the food and wine trip in october--what's a year without food and wine? BTW, I did tell you the hubby is a CM, so not only do I zip around the web finding a good airfare and good rental car rates, you can't beat the resort rates that the CMs get either. Don't hate me.

ok gail.....what level did they assign you to...

Executive

or

Executive Elite???

Emerald Club Executive SelectionSM

This service is only available to our Executive level members. Just like the Emerald Club Aisle, the Executive Selection lets you bypass the counter, choose from any vehicle in the Executive Selection and pay only the intermediate rate. The difference is that the Executive Selection has only full-size and larger car class vehicles. To enjoy it, Executive level members simply reserve a full-size car. You will then pay an intermediate rate for whatever car class you choose in the Executive Selection area. Executive Selection is available at all of our Emerald Aisle locations

looks like the "Excutive" level is sorta like the old book a full size for the same cost of an intermediate and be guaranteed at least a full sized car,

which following through logically, perhaps they will only have intermediates on the Aisle now since the Executive Selection says full size or better on that aisle

as it seems to state in this:

The Emerald Club AisleSM

Lets you bypass the counter and choose any vehicle on the Emerald Aisle by simply reserving an intermediate size car. Because National is committed to bringing you the newest fleet in the industry, you can rest assured knowing that our Aisle will have the most up-to-date intermediate vehicles from which you can choose. Emerald Club Aisle Service is available at most major U.S. airport locations.

Seems that ECA (looks like a new acronym is needed ) now will only have intermediates on IT, we might have to start a new threads

What have you seen on the ECA? lately

and

What have you seen on the ECS? lately

gosh, just as we were getting used to last years change....smilawgs

but i do see an expiry date now listed in summaries...feb 2005

just wondering what this means....

upon reading more....seems it is sorta like SWA rapid rewards ) so many credits in one year ), your level will change depending on how much you have used National during the previous calendar year ( either car rentals or number of rental days ) with the ability to go UP or DOWN in tier levels......

this all is gonna take some "digestion"!!!!

I am just a plain old Emerald Club customer. Not likely to become elite. :) I got rid of all my credit cards and National does not accept Debit cards in your profile.

Oh, I would never hate you!!!! But, I can be a bit jealous. I only get two trips. :( No CMs here, but, we do have DVC, so, it makes it nice for us too. :)

well maybe the one in between then

the Executive one

=)

lots of quirks.....

looks like i will be playing around with "upcoming" trips.....

always something to keep us plugging in codes and coupons ids

OK finally I was able to change my profile to "rental rewards. It would'nt accept until i put in frequent flyer info. Doesn't make sense since I dont want the FF but whatever. Now my summary reads Rental rewards.....expiration is Dec. 31, 2037 (I always wondered how long a free EC membership was good for.)

I am a little concerned with the whole club vs. exec. thing. My whole purpose (and most of yours, I'm sure) for using Nat'l is gettting the chance to choose a car off the aisle. When I first joined you had to rent a Full size - so I didn't worry about EA choices. Now with Intermediate being the EA car.......:(

I know, I know: If you want a guaranteed size book it! But i like the "gamble" of the Aisle.

sigh.

When National ceased being the "official car rental agency" of WDW and it switched to Alamo, it was announced by their parent company that the change was made so to allow that National was going to target business rentals and Alamo would target the leisure rental market. This EC change seems to be right in line with that philosophy.

Gail,
>Yes, I logged on with my EC name and password. It allowed >coupons, contract codes and product codes
It allowed them for me too, but when I actually tried to input a particular coupon code and click "View rate quote" it would not give me a quote. I called their technical support and they agreed it must be some glitch.. There is a thread above about this problem..
