How has National been lately? We are renting a car with them (Luxury) and wondering how the lines at the counter have been. We are Emerald Club members, but did not book using it. So, we are just going to be waiting in line at the regular counter. Our flight arrives around 11:30 AM, and wondering how the lines will be.

Also, when will they be getting their 2002 models in?

We just got make on 21 July and had no problem with National. Though we get in a little earlier (9:30 AM), it took less than 10 minutes to get our paperwork (we didn't book our ressie through EA for this trip) and about 5 minutes to drop our car off. As always, National may renting effortless. We'll be make next week for the big Pin Celebration! and will be using National again, this time with an EA ressie.

Thanks! I wish that I could have gotten an earlier flight into Orlando, but it was a few hundred dollars more than the other flights.

Thanks again. I hope we have a good experience with National. We have rented with them before (in 96 and 98) and had very long lines both times (that took 1hour+ to get through).

I don't know what your situation is, but my dh & I have decided that it goes much smoother if one of us waits for the luggage and the other goes down to the Natl. counter and does the paperwork. Then the person picking up the luggage comes down to the rental area and we proceed to the garage. When we were there in Nov. I actually got the car paperwork done and returned to the luggage carousel before all of our luggage had arrived.

during slower times, I have seen the counter attendants at MCO send EVERYONE with a reservation to the lot to be handled at the checkout booths there.

Curious- why didnt you used EC? I believe orlando is one of the locations (theres a handful accros the country at bigger locations) where you can EC for ANY car- emerald ISle or not. Maybe you want to call EC and ask them if thats the case and if they could move your reservation for you.

If that doesnt work- i'd call the counter directly at the airport and ask if your EC but have a regular reservation can you just go to the lot and handle it at the checkout booth there. I suspect that they can do that based upon them shooing everyone out there during slow times.
