National Women's History Month

March is National Women's History Month - So can anyone tell me why (at least in my childrens school) it is not celebrated? I did not it even know it exsisted until last year and since I have a dgt I think it is important for her to understand that Women in our history have made countless contributions to our society and continue to do so.
