National -the good and bad

The good news, it was as convenient as everyone said it would be. Pick up luggage, go to garage, find Emerald Aisle, pick a car of choice and drive off. There were many cars to pick from including Cruisers and Trakkers. The kids were excited to have the ability to pick our car for us.

The bad news is - and this is really our fault I guess - we did not see a gas station in time to refuel before returning the car. I thought, "oh well, they'll have to charge us for a full tank of gas at some high price I'm sure." Boy was I right. Try $4.99 a gallon! So beware - make sure you refill your tank! I got hit pretty hard with this. I worked so hard to get the absolute best price on renting a car and in the end it was all for nothing.

At least the trip was wonderful!

We will be renting from national at airport. For those of you who have done this where is the nearest gas station to fill up?

I've used National many times. I always fillup before we leave WDW, either at Boardwalk, near TTC or across from Downtown Disney. It's always still on full when we get to the airport, never been charged.

We just returned home and we filled up the car on Buena Vista Drive right near Beach Club Villas where we stayed and had no problem with it showing as a full tank when we arrived at National.

All rental car companies charge those horrific gas prices if you bring it back less than full and did not opt for their 'prepaid' gas plan when you pick up the car. I fill the car up by Downtown Disney right before I get on the highway and the gauge is still on full when I get to the airport.
