If they did, they wouldn't be hiding in the closet. They wouldn't live in constant fear that they're family will find out and shun them, they wouldn't live in fear that their friends will find out and make fun. They wouldn't consider comitting suicide because they felt a certain way for the same gender, and aren't accepted.
Honestly, why would people CHOOSE to feel that way?

At my school it is called Day of Silence and I am part of the GSA at my school (gay-straight alliance) and we run the entire event. I am straight, but I have friends who are gay and bi and have to put up with people not accepting them for who they are. Many students in the student body participate including myself. I completely accept gay/lesbian/bi people and support them by participating in Day of Silence.
