Priced out several rental agencies and so far the 2 cheapest are national (codes from mousesavers) and enterprise. I had problems renting from national internationally...had reservations and they had no cars. Anyone have any experiences with either.

Enterprise is offsite, big negative for me. I have used National a number of times at MCO and have NEVER had a problem with them not having a car. Personally, I would go with National.

I've used National probably 10 times and have never had a problem. Last time I chose from about 20 cars on the Emerald Aisle, all full size or better.

I don't like Enterprise. Any time that I have rented a car from them, they take forever and make you check the cars for damage before you take them. I just want to get in the car and go.

Never a problem here with National. Rented from them 5 times last year (and many times before that). I do use emerald aisle, so can't comment on any counter service--but back long ago, the counter was always quick and short waits. Pick up and drop off are always fast and easy. The cars we have selected have always been top notched. We love the convenience terminal service and not having to drag our luggage on a shuttle bus. We have also had good luck with dollar too. But over the past few years we have rented from national exclusively. Our last car, February 2004, had 5 miles on it. Still had the paper on the sunroof. That was a great extra and good timing on our part. I also like the fact that you can make a reservation with national and not have to put a cc up front to hold the reservation making it easier to change your ressie if the price drops. (the price sometimes starts to drop as your time gets closer, so careful monitoring is important for saving money--my rate has dropped twice this week as my next trip is less than 3 weeks away.)

Your credit card is on file with National when you become an EC member. So, in reality, you have put a credit card upfront, it just has not been charged.

We recently got National via Priceline for the first time ever and were very pleased with the experience. The line was almost non existent, and there was absolutely no pressure to buy their insurance. We did have to wait to get out of the garage because Alamo was packed and they share the same check-out. But all of the booths were manned, so it only took a few minutes. When we returned the car, it was very crowded (you also return with Alamo) but they were well-staffed so that was only a matter of maybe 10 minutes and we were on our way. I was very pleased with the experience.

I prefer National over the others and have never had a problem with renting form them anywhere.
