national rental car codes

anyone know any good discount codes for national? I did get a pretty good rate on our rental with alamo… but I like to use national since i can just go pick up the car and not wait in line =)

I'm guessing you are a member of the Emerald Club for National also.

Go to KLM.com and become a member of their Flying Blue program. This way you will have a Flying Blue member number if you are asked to show proof of membership. Just an FYI I have rented with National twice so far with the KLM code and have not be asked to show any proof but better to be safe then sorry.

I just used it yesterday to book 6 days in July, $188 for a compact. This is the best deal I've gotten so far, though I'm still looking and might do Priceline when I get closer to my travel dates.

I registered at KLM for Flying Blue and am trying to figure out where to insert the KLM code on the National form. Any advice anyone?

OK, I successfully inserted the KLM code plus my ID membership and received a terrific price quote. It's $100 off the Emerald quote. Is this too good to be true?

I don't think so. I have used it numerous times with no issues. But honestly, if you don't feel comfortable with it don't use it. It's not worth the stress and no amount of people telling you it is fine will make it necessarily true. If National doesn't want to accept the code anymore, they will close the loophole.

No, no! I TOTALLY feel comfortable with it! I'm absolutely over-the-moon with happiness after reading all these terrific tips. I used the KLM code and added the BJ discount $30 and ended up with a fantastic deal for an economy car from National! Thanks everyone and DIS board!
