I'm trying to get a decent rate for a long weekend in October. When I plug in my dates, National comes back saying its four days. We're arriving around noon on a Friday and leaving about 8:30pm on Monday. OK, I guess that is four days. Right now, with my DC discount and a code I found it's $89.00. Does it pay to have a car or should we do Mears? Personally, I think it's worth it to have a car...no waiting for the shuttle to arrive!

Any thoughts? Thanks!

A car rental 'day' is one 24 hour period. So if you are picking up at noon it would have to be returned by noon on Monday to be counted at 3 days. Personally I would rent the car. I like the freedom of having my own transportation.

I can't remember, but we are going for a long weekend in Sept and it was cheaper to go with National than with Mears or Tiffany Town Car. I personally like the freedom of my own car as well.

I think for $89 I would rent the car! Tiffany is close to that aren't they? Mears would be about $50 dollars for two people and for the extra money you would have more freedom.
