National rates down

Unfortunately.... this isn't the case with mine and my mini van ressie.
At Alamo and National I am looking at $300.00 Sept 17th to the 24th.

Ack! I'm playing around with codes and your dates and not coming up with any rate lower than that for a minivan. Hoping you get a last minute deal!

Thanks for trying! You're sweet..
I do have a ressie with the *67 code to try at least.

Not to be a pessimist, but does anyone else think that the rates that are coming out by combining the continental airlines code with the blog coupon seems a bit too good to be true? I tried the combo of the two codes yesterday and was quoted 91.66. Just now I was quoted 88.xx...

That is a crazy good deal for a week long mid-size car!

I'm wondering if this will turn out to be a repeat of the *67...

Is it just me?

I have every confidence in this code since I've used the Continental code before and it has, at times, given me very good rates compared to others. But if you're worried, you can still use the AAA rate that only bumps it up a few more dollars from the Continental. Even the Emerald Club rate isn't that far off form the current Continental discount. They're now all in the same ballpark. I think September/October is a slow time for them (being Hurricane season) and they're trying to rent their cars out.

Interesting, my November rates are still the same except for the $30 off coupon that I got via email today. That brought my mid size SUV down $35 (including the drop in fees) from my original reservation in May/June.

I'm not worried. These rates are actually in line with rates I've been getting for years. Car rental rates tend to bottom out towards the end once they have a better idea of what their stock will be (how many reservations at a certain time, how many one ways taking cars away from that location, etc) and I've always been able to slash my rate in the last weeks. The rates are too good, but not too good to be true.

WOOOHOOOOO!!

I just got a rental from National Executive Selection, pickup Sept. 20 at MCO, drop off Sept 25 at Port Canaveral, for $82!

Even with me paying $20 for a cab from the rental office to the port, this is saving me $40 over my previous reservation from Thrifty!

I didn't think my rate could get any better but it did.

I'm really not sure why I have been compulsively checking the rates every few hours today. I Experimented with 3 different codes each time. Rates came up the same, each time, with Costco, E/A exec. and Continental codes. They have been up and down like a yo-yo during different times of the day though. This past time I checked the rate was $9.00 less with the Continental hence booked.
Low of the day $123 -- High of the day $212 -- all for mid-size. I was excited at the $132.XX res. I got earlier today and didn't think it could go any lower.
:scratchin Now were is my Continental one pass card?????????????? :scratchin
Perhaps at the bottom of the paper shredder?

Yes, it's just you!:rotfl:
This code is for Continental's frequent flier club members. Just sign up, it's free. You can find the code listed on the Mousesaver's rental car page. :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone reassuring me! I've been a one pass member for years - so I am not worried about that. I guess it was just the blog coupon that made it better.

Makes sense that its their "slow"(er) season because of hurricanes, after the summer vacation season.

I can't wait to reap my savings! :goodvibes

Only 28 more days to go!

Just checked my National rates for Nov. DOWN another 15.00 for the week!!
using AAA and 35.00 cpn.

Haven't read the whole thread, but I've rebooked with National a few times now (I think I'm up to 4 or 5). Anyway, for those that are interested, the Airtran code (6600422) gives me the same rate as the Continental code. My Atlanta rental is best with the AAA rate.

I have executive selection:
Atlanta, Oct 9 (12:30pm) to Oct 12 (9:30am), AAA rate (6100253), $94.13. That includes a free day.
MCO, Oct 12 (12:00pm) to Oct 25 (4:30pm), Airtran rate (6600422), coupon (ND2119071Q), $282.24. :dance3: I'm quite happy with that!!! It started out at $431!!!!

Minivan, 9/10-9/20 $202.04 including fees

I used the regular EC code 5007125, $35 coupon ND2119071Q that Dan Murphy posted!! Thanks a bunch!!

Thank you! I just got a midsize for 12/11- 12/17 for $135 after taxes and fees! I'll keep watching for it to go down too!

Why does this keep me at 306.00 still??? Crazy! 9/17-9/24

I got a minivan for 9/10-9/20 too! Same price ($202.04) but used the AAA code. :thumbsup2

I don't know...I just played around with your dates trying different times for pick up and drop off and the lowest I could get it down to was 290 and change. Maybe because our pick up date is closer than yours?? Does seem odd there is such a BIG difference! Keep checking and good luck!!!

:yay: Maybe I'll see you in the parking garage! :goodvibes

Mine actually went up (10/18-10/24). I made a reservation last week for $141. The Emerald Club code & Continental code just gave me $154 for both. AAA was $151, only because they would not allow a FF #.

I wonder if I would be better off renting the car for our entire stay instead of just for 3 days. All these great deals you all are listing makes me think it might be worth a try.
