National rates down

What are your dates and what are you using for codes/coupons? I just checked my 8/14-8/23 rates and they are the same.

I found better rates on Alamo still even though they are down with the e-coupon and Walmart code.....try it! (mine are for Nov)

National went down on 8/4 for our September dates (9/12-9/20) and today, they're down AGAIN! :cool1: Weird thing is, I get a better rate with the Emerald Club code than with our AARP discount. With a $35 coupon, we're now only $8 more than Alamo for the entire 8 days, AND only $30 more than the infamous 67 code we had originally!! :goodvibes
WOO HOO!!!

Edited same day: Just a few hours later, it's now down another $10 and now it's (finally) LOWER than same thing with Alamo!!

Not good here.....$1800 for a 2 week minivan.....

Thanks anyway

Did you try it with the Emerald Club code: 5007125 and then I used an Entertainment coupon for a free day and got 1 week with a minivan on Emerald Reserve for $300.

Hope that might help you!

Thanks - i tried it but it is still over $1800 for a two week reservation....they must be really tight on minivans.......or something......:confused3

Wow! My ressie went down to $143.02, including taxes! I used the $35 off coupon and the Emerald Aisle code, for dates September 6-13.

I'm kind of stuck because we also have an Alamo ressie for a mid-size SUV for $20 more, so I don't know if we should use National so that we can just walk straight to the car, or use Alamo because we would enjoy having the SUV more. I was planning to use the check in at the Alamo kiosk while DH grabs the luggage in order to save time, BUT then every dollar helps when you're at Disney....... :confused3

WOW is right.
Full size car
9/13-20, 8 days(extra day's charge for 5 extra hours)
contract 5007125 with coupon NF1982JDD($30 off week)
Was $260 on Sunday
Now $150!!!
Booked

Thanks for the heads-up.

Now for a question. I joined the EA club and got the free upgrade to executive status, but my reservation states:

Here's what you do to pick up your car:
Counters: Consolidated Alamo/National counters located in terminals A and B on Level One below all airline baggage claim lobbies.

My question is how do I get the emerald aisle service?
Thanks

John

Is this your first time using the Emerald Club? I can't remember as I've had mine for awhile, but I want to say that the first time you use it, the ressie still shows up as "Counter"??? I'd call National and ask.

How'd you manage a free Executive Status?? That rocks!

Yes this will be the first time.
I also want my wife an additional driver, can I register her online or do I do that at the counter as well(or do I even have to do anything at all since the additional driver comes free with the Emerald Club). I really want to try the EA and hopefully get something nice.

As far as the free executive status, that came from a post on flyertalk.com a few months back

Thanks,
John

I tried the codes you (JOHN) used for November 8-15 and the best I can get is 213. I have 173 on Alamo. Anyone have any other suggestions. We are an Emerald Club member but I need to find my number. Where do I get the Emerald club code? Maybe that would work. I do like the idea of walking out to choose a car.

no luck yet for mid/end of Oct...perhaps soon:wizard:

thanks for posting Ally:thumbsup2

I'm still having no go with the convertible rental I want. The base price is STILL 470. The Emerald Club code and the free day coupon knock over $150 off the total, but with taxes, it's still $350, which is $75 more than my existing Alamo ressie.

Keep checking! You are still pretty far out and I've been checking daily for better rates since my trip is next month and the rates for that just dropped today. I'd say that a month beforehand will give you a better idea....

You do have to provide the info. on any additional drivers, even if it is free. You can add your wife at the counter, but I'd try calling National and see if you can get everything on your ressie approved and squared away beforehand and then bypass the counter as that is the biggest perk of Emerald Club!;) Their customer service agents are usually very happy to help, unlike some of the other companies I've rented from.

Thanks!! I reduced my reservation to $143 from $200. And now I don't have to rely on that questionable contract code. ;)

(I had two reservations: one with THE code and one with other codes that I knew I was entitled to)

Early September is down another few $$.
and late September-October seems to have gone up a little.

car rates went back up some this morning

I saved over $100 in the Emerald Isle.:woohoo: Booked over two months ago, cancelled and rebooked last week. Thanks for the heads up.:thumbsup2
