National Rates are down again today (11/29)

I am trying to still book that minivan for 12-16 until 1-3-05 in the evening. Prices are ski high. I am using BDL (Hartford Airport) to get the rate. Anyone that can help me, I would truly appreciate it.

My rate for Dec 4-10 dropped another $10. It's down from over $250 in June to $118 now.

What car class did you get? I'm traveling the same dates and ended up with $109.90 for an Intermediate. For a couple of dollars, I'm not sweating it, but just curious.

BTW - I'm using Priceless code and Entertainment coupon.

looks like his rental is a 5 day rental .....thus less cost for surcharges and taxes....

and get this ....if you rent 8 days it is cheaper than a full week rental.....that is a cost is 109 for 8 days and ours is 112$ for 7 days....that is with priceless and entertainment code....

I have the exact same dates in Dec, a 5 day rental, and I also have $107.19 National EA using Priceless code and Ent $20 coupon.

Ok, I got it down to the $107.19. I still don't know why it wouldn't give it to me this morning. I used the exact same code I put in this morning but it was quoting $109, but I got the $107 now. Maybe it will keep inching down?? This is why I always keep checking back, rates always tend to drop as we get closer to our travel dates.

well something was screwy today on national's site....

cancelling a superfluous reservation that was booked at 122$, when it came up in the view modify cancel screen the total was 143$ so i called just to verify the rental we have coming up......it appeared correctly in their computer as 112$ ...thus as some have said the modify reservation with national does not always work...that is why we always re book and then cancel rather than modifying a reservation

it does not hurt to verify your rate before you go.....thus no surprises when you bring the car back....

Any reservations over the holidays are going to be expensive due to high demand.

Looks like rates went down AGAIN today (12/2) for my December dates (12/12-12/25). My 2 week full-size rental went from $247 to $215 with all taxes/fees, using the Entertainment book coupon and priceless id. This is great!

BTW, just to see, I checked EA and that would be $180 for my 2-week rental. Base rates are 86.95 Int and 104.95 full-size.

Both my rates dropped. My december rate dropped $4.00 and my January rate dropped $5.00. I know it's not much, but gotta love when they drop in price. This is new because I checked Thursday morning and the rates were the same, so everyone should re-check again.

I tried both the national AP rate code and the priceless code and I still have my rental from Alamo for cheaper. Dates 1/14-1/17 SUV for 128.22.
The best I could get through National with the priceless was $140

help where does the priceless code go in the national boxes. I have the entertaoinment book so I have the contract and the coupon code box but where does the priceless code go?

the priceless code goes in the contract box. take the entertainment one out. The site does let you mix and match codes as we often do on all of our ressies. you will be pleasantly surprised by the price difference. keep the entertainment coupon code in the coupon box, priceless will work with it.

I don't have an entertainment book, but just used the internet specials for my Dec. trip (over the Christmas Holiday) and saved $22 over some of the coupons I had used for an SUV on ER.

Thanks! I was just going to except the rate I had since it is for a 7 day rental during Christmas, I would have never re-checked it.

The rates have since jumped since I got those rates. I guess it pays off to check often! Plus interestingly enough, the concession charges now show up when I do a quote for my Dec trip, but not for my June trip. Maybe an advance ressie is required to get that waived?

When reserving Emerald Aisle, can you take out the contract code that comes up in that box and put in the Priceless code or since its EA do you have to leave that one there? This is our first time reserving as an EA member. Is it really a lot better than going to the counter?

Also if anyone has an Entertainment book for 2005 would you be willing to PM me a coupon code number so I can see if its worth buying the book? We are going in June (hopefully)!

Liz:

You can take out the EA contract code and use the Priceless code and still utilize EA as an Emerald Club member. It is much better to go directly to the cars than it is to stand on line at the counter and then go to the cars. Saves a lot of time and gets you on your vacation quicker.

I tried EA in August for the first time and LOVED it! I was nervous as well, but it was so darn easy and quick. Sure beat waiting for the town car service. Plus, not having to wait in line was great. You walk out the door, across the street. You pick a car, put in the luggage and go! Very simple and painless. It was so easy we are using National and EA again this January. For about $30 more than a town car service, we have a rental for 8 days. Yeah!
