this may seem like a really silly question...but can anyone use the Amex Agency Family Pass code or do you need to have an Amex to use it?

this is my first experience trying to combine codes and coupons and emerald aisle service!

Mary from Mousesavers suggests that if you use this code, you might want to have the Am. Exp. card with you.

my DH has an AmEx, but it's for business only...wonder if they'd accept that?

ETA...i just read on mousesavers that it doesn't appear that you actually have to use the card in order to get the discount. you just need to have it with you. has anyone used this code and not used their AmEx to pay for the rental?

Yes, they will accept the business Amex.

thanks!! i'm hoping that we don't have to actually USE the Amex though. i'm certainly glad that i found this thread!! it's saving me lots of money on my rental!!

For those going in September.. National's rates went way back up last evening as opposed to the morning hours..hopefully they will go down soon so we can get some even better rates on the cars....

Right now we have ressies with the Amex code (we don't have a Amex card but my mom does and she is coming with us so if we need to use it to pay, we can use the card and just pay my mom what the rental costs).
We have November 26 through December 5....9 days.
It says my level of service is still Emerald Aisle. I will call to confirm if this is indeed correct.
I paid for Intermediate class and the price for 9 days is $270.93.
I thought this was sort of high since we usually go in October and have never paid more than $200 but coming in the day after Thanksgiving may have something to do with it. Also looking at the other rates for summer I guess my rate is "normal". I'm done researching different rental companies (we end up always using National at WDW) but will just keep checking rates during the upcoming months.

we're actually renting a car from indianapolis and driving to orlando. so far, with an entertainment coupon and the amex rate, we're looking at $208 for an 8 day rental...and that's for a midsize with emerald aisle.

Just a FYI, the person renting the car needs to have the cc in their name. Unless your mother is renting the car, using her card will not work.

do you know if you actually have to PAY for the rental with the Amex or can you just show that you have it and then use another credit card?

You don't have to pay for the rental with the AMEX, but, you should have it with you and it has to be in the name of the person renting the car. IE: in your case, even if it is a business AMEX, it should have your DH's name on it.

Boy, I wish I had looked at this Transportation section before tonight-- I had booked my ressies about 3 weeks ago for a full-size for 285 for 10 days with National -- thought that was great because it was so much cheaper than the rates I found with hertz, avis, alamo, budget, etc -- never thought to keep checking to see if the rates would change from week to week using different codes.

Anyhow, I saw references in some of the posts to "Carlson" and "Priceless". Can anyone use these, or do you have to be a member of something?

I am not sure about the Carlson code, but, I do know anyone can use the Priceless code.
