National Lampoon's February Quest For Fun!!~ LIVE UPDATE 2/9 post 852

Glad I'm not alone! We did that one year in WDW too. I ordered him a cake for our dinner at Chef Mickey's and everything. It was fun and he had no idea it wasn't his actual birthday. It was only 1 week away so why not celebrate it in the WORLD!!?? :goodvibes

My thoughts exactly! If they can't even read yet, the calendar has no meaning!

Today we went shopping at Khol's and got some great deals!! I was able to rack up on DS's clothes. Getting him 4 sweatshirts, 2 long sleeve t-shirts, 2 pair of jeans, & a Buzz Lightyear long sleeve shirt!! DH was able to snag 2 pair of new tennis shoes for our trip. Next we headed to Old Navy so I could look for some jeans. I found 2 pair which is exactly what I needed. :woohoo: I feel so accomplished today. :rotfl2: Also, when we got home there was a package on our door step. It was my new park bag!!! The trip is getting close I tell ya!!

Don't ya love Kohl's? Best sales ever. I just went the other day and got 3 new sweaters 70% off the sale price. Plus I had $20 in Kohl's cash - it ended up costing my $13 for all three. Can't beat it :confused3

Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode when George proclaimed, "my boys can swim!"

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I remember that one. I love that show....STILL!

Cherie so sad that you lost Devon

Judy is adopted but she has blessed me with 3 awesome grandkids !!!!:hug:Neither she nor I think of her as adopted , I am MOM adshe is my beloved daughter !!

Thank you Rosie
Aww, that's awesome Rosie! Chris' little sister is adopted. His mother couldn't have any more children after him.

The above post reminds meof the poem my MIL gave me God rest her soul!!

Not Flesh of my Flesh
Or boneof my bone
Never forget for a single minute
That you didn't grow beneath my heart
But in it !!!

I love it!!

Cherie, I'm so sorry about Devon. He would be the same age as Evan. It is amazing to look at pictures of this tiny peanut knowing that he's now a little over 6 ft and shaves.

And it's not too late for you to have another baby, if you want.

:rotfl2:

that is a sweet poem! that's how I feel about my mom, she didn't give birth to me or legally adopt me, but she's mom just the same.

Thank you Cherie
It IS so amazing but also a little sad at how fast they grow. The years just fly right by.
We talk about it sometimes. We shall see. ;)

apparently DJay's "boys" are all named Michael Phelps.

:rotfl2:

So sorry about Devon. My nephew is a Devon.

Thank you Jordan!
I love that name. DH and I both had a "secret" name that we had picked out if it was a boy. We BOTH told each other that it was a name that we really, really liked. The day that we shared with each other what that name was we totally flipped out because it was the same name! There wasn't too many Devon's out there yet back then. Isn't that weird?? I guess it was just meant to be.

Blue, I am so to of your loss of Devon.

Thank you

did you know that inhaling gummi bears hurts?:lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

It's 'cause their ears stick out.

:rotfl2:

We just got a Kohl's here and I'm addicted already. They've had some really good deals going on.
$13 is AWESOME!! :woohoo:

Great purchases! Are you all done shopping?

Thanks!
Girl, I am NEVER done shopping!!! ;)
Seriously, I only have 1 more thing I'd like to get....a D23 membership t-shirt.

DH just looked over here and saw what I typed. He claims that I "always" say I just need 1 more thing.

why not....but Belle is my favorite.

I love Belle's yellow dress. I think her dress is my favorite out of all the princess dresses.

Her dress is awesome, but I look horrible in yellow. Ariel is my fav, but, I'm not a huge fan of the pink dress she wears around the parks. Maybe Cinderellas? I love blue, and it's prettiful!! Unless I can wear Belle's blue everyday dress. That's cute!!

You are the mom of a true angel. :littleangel: My theory on children who don't stay long is that they were already perfect and didn't need to pass all the tests we go through here on earth. Same goes for the perpetually innocent. The ones that never grow up, like my angel. Not that you needed my theory.

SO, good shopping deals! I finally found some shoes today, as well as a bunch of other stuff I didn't know I was looking for! (the WDW shoes are Merrells? I'll post pics on my PTR)

The above post reminds meof the poem my MIL gave me God rest her soul!!

Not Flesh of my Flesh
Or boneof my bone
Never forget for a single minute
That you didn't grow beneath my heart
But in it !!!

I have a copy of the poem with one additional line (and unfortunately no credit to the author, unknown to me)
Not Flesh of my Flesh
Nor bone of my bone
But still, miraculously, my own
Never forget for a single minute
You didn't grow beneath my heart
But in it !!

I love it too. The "my own" part makes a difference. I love when I get to correct people (innocently) making comments such as, "You adopted her? I thought she was YOURS!". And I reply smugly, She IS mine! ;)
Or, oh, oh, here's a good one: "Do you know what her REAL mom looks like?". I reply, Oh yes! She about 5'4, curvy figure, blonde hair, her name is Melissa. :rotfl2:

Don't forget about Tiana's new and oh-so sophisticated blue dress!

Aww that really stinks about the bag! :sad2: Can you ask her to trade you?? Hope you are able to find the one you want!
I would except for one minor detail....She had a house fire not long after I gave her the bag. :guilty: I actually wanted to buy her another one, but it looks like I will have to do some digging around to find a couple more in the same color. :) If anyone figures something out will you let me know? Thanks.

A womans body is an amazing thing. :thumbsup2
You can say that again! From the sounds of what Winkers is saying....so is a woman's will! Way to go Winkers! :thumbsup2

When DH and I first got married we got pregnant but he (it was a boy) passed away during the 5th month of pregnancy. I wish now that we would not have waited so long to try again. If we hadn't waited so long I'm sure that we would have more than one child. You know what they say....hindsight is 20/20. Anyway, we named him Devon. If he were alive he would be 16 this year!!

Blue, I'm so sorry for your loss. :sad1:
You couldn't be more right about hindsight being 20/20, my DH says that we should have had two more between the one's we have. Now he tells me! My kids are seven years apart...not by our choice, it was God's planning. :)

did you know that inhaling gummi bears hurts?:lmao:
I guarantee Bill Clinton wouldn't know anything about this, I hear he doesn't inhale. :smokin:

It's 'cause their ears stick out.

:goodvibes :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I will have to take your word for it Winkers! You crack me up Glennbo :rotfl:

This is so heart touching, thank you for sharing Melissa.

That's right! YOUR THE MAMA! :goodvibes

Don't forget about Tiana's new and oh-so sophisticated blue dress!
And such a pretty dress it is. :lovestruc

I think Ariel's dress is blue with puffy sleeves. It's Princess Aurora's (sleeping beauty) dress that is pink and that one is my LEAST favorite. Seem's like they could give that one an update.

But your theory is so good! Thanks for sharing. I like it.

Yay for shoes!!! I will have to go check them out.

I love the poem. I agree with all that you've said. It seems rude when people say such things even if they are innocently inquiring.

:rotfl2: Yeah,, I've heard that about Bill too.

I just realised I omitted a line in the poem :-
Not flesh of my flesh
Nor Bone of my Bone
But still miraculously my own
Never forget for a single minute
You didn't grow beneath my heart
But in it !!!

Rosie, I added that line last night. :goodvibes I didn't know which was the proper version since I have no author listed for that one. Sometimes, especially since the internet, people just tweak things however they want and I've seen stuff that I KNOW was changed. There is a poem that appeared in Dear Abby decades ago called "Trip to Holland" about raising a child with Down Syndrome. It's wonderful, if anyone has time to look it up. Later, I saw a new version tweaked it (named it Trip to Australia, I think) to make it about infertility/adoption. The analogy was good, but I wish the person hadn't stolen the first poem to accomplish it. Sigh.

It's beautiful Rosie!!

I saw the "trip to holland" letter I think on Pipersmom's PTR. It was awesome. I absolutely love it. I sent it to my friend who's daughter has CP.

Haha! You're right, it's blue. I was thinking of the dress she wears in this princess calendar a friend of mine got me. It's horrible. Though all the dresses look horrible in this thing. Let's just say someone had too much fun with the bedazzler. Anywho, I don't like her blue one either.

I love your baggalini! I love buying new stuff for a trip.. it makes its soo exciting.

GREAT pic from Splash Mountain.. I always cover my head so I don't get soaked.. hehe so the pic is never to great of me. hehe

I'm pretty sure that is the one and only time I'll be compared to bill clinton.
