Just got back tonight. We arrived around noon last Saturday in B terminal. They had about 15 full size on the aisle, mostly Regals and Luminas, and 2 P/U's. No Vans, SUV's or Convertibles. I picked a teal Lumina with 1,000 miles on it. Check-out was quick. When returning it this afternoon (3:30), the return area was a zoo. There were lots of cars in the return aisles, it was backed up almost to where you turn in. Got checked out quick, but when I looked at my slip, I was overcharged. $138.61 vs $116.94 on my internet reservation (which I made last October). What was missing was the 15% Emerald Club discount. The $15 Entertainment Coupon was there, but no EC discount. I went to the booth in the garage, but no one was there. There was a lady outside the booth and she looked at my slip vs the reservation and agreed that the EC discount was missing and told me to go inside. Luckily we were early for the flight. There was one person ahead of me in the return line at the counter, but it took the guy about 20 minutes to figure out how to adjust it, he had to go to the back twice. He finally got it down to $117.46, I said close enough! 
I did look at the aisle on the way out (about 3:30 today), there were only 4 or 5 full sizes, 2 SUV's, 1 P/U. Most of the size aisles were close to empty, they really needed to get those returned cars moving. I guess alot of business people return cars on Friday afternoon. All in all, it was a good experience, the car drove great and the price was right!
I've been shopping for prices for December and I noticed that National's internet reservations are not giving any discount for Emerald Club contract code anymore, which may have contributed to my problem today. I always got 15% to 20% in the past. Anyone else notice that?
