Well no matter what I input for 8/19 - 8/31 I am unable to beat Alamo's rate of $450 :( for a minivan....but thanks for posting!!

I would keep trying. I have found them much cheaper than that. What codes are you using?

Has anyone recently had any problems using the double upgrade coupon? Also, did you go to the counter or straight to the Emerald Reserve area? :confused3 My reservation says to the the Emerald Reserve. I'm picking up Sunday and was curious.

In case any one is interested, I rented today at MCO using the double upgrade coupon and my AAA discount. I went directly to the Emeral Reserve area (not the counter), picked a minivan, and drove to the check-out booth. No questions, no coupon request, nothing. Was out in less than 10 minutes that included packing stuff in the minivan.

:wave2: Hi! :wave2:

I have tried all the codes on Mousesavers for Dollar, National and Alamo. We dont want to shuttle offsite and I am trying to stick with the rental agencys that allow a free second driver.

I was sad to see that Dollar (I think it was Dollar but could have been National) FINALLY released codes for the end of the summer but wouldnt you know it - we pick up on the 19th and all the codes start on the 20th :(

I will keep trying but dont think I am going to have much luck. Thanks though.

EdDome, If possible let us know what happens when you return the minivan. I have read another post here where they were given a hard time and were almost charged about double using the double upgrade coupon and the AAA discount.

Do you have the Entertainment Book? If not, it may be a worthwhile investment. Buy the one for your area, and the codes will work for rentals in Florida. That way, you can use it all year long.

I also have a National reservation using the double upgrade coupon (and the AAA discount which I belong to anyway)

I didn't upgrade to the mini-van. I used it to upgrade to a full-size.

Does anyone suspect I will have a problem using the coupon??? Or are the folks getting the hassle because they used the coupon towards a mini-van??

We leave in 10 days so naturally, I'm worried about any possible snags in our trip plans, lol.

You have yours reserved the correct way. We all knew that the coupon didn't apply to being upgraded to a minivan, but since it let us do it online, we did. You shouldn't have any problem.

My SIL didn't have any problems and she chose a full size. I disagree with knowing there would be problems because AFTER entering the coupon # it allowed me to choose the minivan so I see no problem.

I feel so stupid. I just looked at my reservation for Saturday Pick up in Ft Lauderdale and saw I put 2:00 a.m. instead of p.m.. I just called and they guy fixed it. They coupon wouldn't work. Then he said it wasn't valid, put me on hold told me they could refuse the coupon and tried again and it worked. HE said they could deny it at the counter. I told him I knew that but thanked him again for all of his help. I will post an update to what happened when I get back on the 28th.

Mish, was your coupon used for the mini-van?
I'm thinking I should just call National to confirm my reservation. I already called them a few days ago to add my flight information onto the reservation and they did not mention anything about the coupon although I didn't specifically ask, lol.

I'm just wondering if the entire coupon is flagged or if it is just if the coupon is used towards a mini-van. Mine is for a full-size.

I just re-entered all my info on the National home page and everything still works fine (although the rates have gone up since I originally booked). I chose the compact and get upgraded to the full-size without any problems.

Hopefully everything will work out just fine.

Those of us on ths thread were aware of the problem but some of us chanced anyway. They can refuse at the counter even though your computer allowed the res. The coupon clearly does not show that vans are elgble. (Sorry for the typos some of my letters won't press)

We just returned from our WDW trip. I did use the 5766241 code & AAA code. Paid $185 for 9 days in a minivan with National. When we returned the car they wanted to charge $607! I simply went to the National desk, showed them my e-mail confirmation and they changed the rate. It took an extra 5 minutes, but was a great savings. So....make sure and check your receipt!

How do I use the coupon and AAA? When I put the AAA code in it comes up with a higher price. Thanks

I reserved the mini van.

Actually the confirmation email does cleary state minivan and coupon accepted.

I totally understand that the website allowed many people (including myself) to utilize the coupon to reserve a minivan. I'm just saying that on the coupon, it says for rental of a compact thru intermediate. On National's website, when you enter a coupon, it states to read the terms and conditions of the coupon before selecting the vehicle. So, even though it will allow us to use the coupon, there may (and have been) problems with it being honored because the coupon doesn't say that it includes the rental of a minivan. Those of us who have done our rentals already, and have had problems because of it, know first hand that we can be called on it. I seem to remember a while ago, that people were putting in coupon codes, and clicking on "2,3,6and 8 " for the number of coupons, which brought down the price to almost nothing. But, we knew that we were only allowed to utilize one coupon at a time (along with one discount code, and one PRC). Even though the crazy website allowed it, the customer service reps said that you could only use one coupon. I just wanted people to be aware that there could be, and have been, problems once people get to the rental agency. :goodvibes

I reserved a minivan using the code, when we went to the desk the employee told us the coupon wouldn't work for him, checked with someone in the office and then let us take an SUV. This was OK for us because we had 5 people and really only needed extra room for luggage, but for a family needing seating for more than 5 it could be more of a problem.

After going through this thread, I'm confused, but wanting to get a good deal.
I printed the coupon from the OP's link. It doesn't really look like a coupon. I'm wondering if everything loaded correctly. It has Big Ten conference and a red W. in the middle it says "Print this coupon and present it at counter" then it has the terms and conditions. Just seems like something different should have printed when I clicked on "print this coupon". do I have the right thing?
It also says can't be used with other discounts. How are you combining with AAA discount? I have a AAA membership, but only know of the code given in this thread. I guess I could refer to mousesavers or call AAA. BUT, when I tried just the AAA code, it wanted a quantity for the code--what does that even mean?
Any advice on the best way to go about getting a decent price. I need a rental from CCC for only two days really, mid-week, mid-August. I have a AAA membership, Entertainment Book, DH has an Emerald Club number I can use, I prefer to use AmEx anyway (I think I saw a code for that). I don't need a mini-van, just four of us that need to get to a couple of places w/o luggage. So many coupons and codes
OT--does CCC offer shuttle service to the resorts (specifically AKL) or other way around resorts offering shuttles to CCC--whatever.
Really appreciate any advice anyone is willing to offer. :goodvibes
