National City Gift card

Hello everyone! QUESTON!!
My 20th birthday was yesterday and my mom gave me a Nathional City Bank gift card. It is like a debit card, sponsored by visa, but can only be filled with money once. I know that disney accepts visa (duah the Disney visa card!! )
But I was wondering if this sounded like a good idea to have. I will be brining other money with me but I don't know what from yet (cash, other debit card or traverl's checks). I am liking the idea of this type of card because I will not be affecting my bill money in my checking account.

Do you have any opinins on this card?? I'm not sure about mine yet !!

I give these all the time for weddings, etc.

I have purchased them for my kids to take to Disney and they work great. It's just like a credit card, but is prepaid. The only difference in the Disney Rewards card and these is that on the VISA's, you don't have the convenience of your balance printing out on the bottom of the receipt each time you use the card. They are more difficult to keep track of, but you can always call the number on the back of the card for your balance.

THat is cool about the running total at the end! I was worried about always having to call the number on the back to make sure I had money. (Heaven forbid I keep track of my receipts lol). I am excited about this type of card becuase I can't over spend!

I have gotten these cards as gifts 2 or 3 times. They are great. The thing you have to watch is the balance. If your purchase is 25.00 and you only have 24.00 left on the card then the sale will decline. Still an awesome gift.

People use these cards where I work all the time. Like another poster said, if your purchase is more than the value of your card it will be declined. You have to pay cash or check for the difference first to get the purchase price down to the value of your card then you can use it. (FYI - you can not use another credit card to do this.) One other thing to note, KEEP the card until you know that you won't need to return the items...at our store if you return the item, the return goes back on the card!
