I've been researching car rentals week of 4/10 - 4/18 and using many discount codes to do so, predominantly those in the 2004 Entertainment Book. I'm looking for a standard SUV (or a minivan but using the SUV for cost comparison) and the difference is overwhelming.

National quote is 285.06, next lowest is Budget at 579.00, with Alamo the highest at 666.00. Avis is low 600's and Hertz is telling me they don't have an standard SUVs for these dates - just the Ford Escape.

Why is National so low relatively speaking? I'm going to go ahead and reserve but is there something I'm missing? Are National cars in as good repair as other major chains? Is the pickup on site or at least does it have a shuttle to an offsite location. The disparity in pricing leaves me somewhat skeptical so I want to make sure I don't have any reason to be.

National is on site. I have had no problems at all renting from them. Sometimes they are cheapest and other times highest. Make the reservation. Keep checking rates and if it changes, cancel the National and go with another.

National is great. Be sure to visit mousesavers.com and find the link to National under car rentals at Walt Disney World. There are instructions to obtain a free Emerald Club membership which will allow you to bypass the rental counter line and go straight to your car. In addition, I booked a minvan for 4/30 - 5/7 using the Emerald club code for just under $200/week (I don't have my information in front of me to give you the exact rate).
