National Car Rental Cancellation Policy

Ok....I've been looking around all day trying to find out National's cancellation policy but have come up empty. I'm looking to make a reservation for Sept. but if something comes up and I need to cancel, I'm trying to find out what would happen. If someone could point me in right direction that would be HUGE!!!!

Hi,

There is no cancellation policy with car rentals. When you rent a car you do not need to leave a credit card number, so you can literally cancel up until the last minute.

Thanks for the info -- I figured it was like booking a flight and there would be fees to change it and such. Thanks for the quick reply!!

I've made, cancelled, and remade reservations so many times it would make your head spin (it did mine ). It used to be that you could get good deals every so often but since last year the deals are few and far between. If you make a reservation, keep checking cause you might get something better. If you find a better deal make that reservation and then cancel the other.

But as long as you don't give them a credit card when you book there is nothing to worry about.
