How do you drop the rental car at the dolphin?? Is there a a specific entrance for National or do you use the regular hotel entrance? I have no idea how to do this, so, any info that you can provide at this time will be very useful... Thanks :confused3

I dropped off at the Dolphin twice this year. Just drive to the front entrance of the Dolphin and park and go to the window at the left of the main doors outside and they will take care of you. Or just ask the someone out front for Nat. returns. Just don't give the keys to someone if your not sure.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of drop off at the Dolphin too. I drove up to the Valets there and asked where the drop-off for National was; they responded "you're looking at them". They gave a me a quick receipt, and I was off again. I'll be doing it again in February: picking up at MCO, dropping off at Dolphin, with a lovely trip to Vero Beach in between.

In the past, I have dropped off the car at the Dolphin, and the valet has taken the car, returned to give me the keys, and I've gone inside to get my receipt. Last month the guy taking my car said I didn't need to do anything if I had already paid. I was hesitant to leave without the receipt, but checked into my hotel (Swan) without personally returning the keys to the National counter and getting a final receipt. I stopped by the National desk a few hours later when I was back at the Dolphin, and the keys hadn't been returned yet. I checked my credit card statement online when I got home to make sure I wasn't charged for any extra time, and the charge was correct. Still, next time I will ask to return the keys myself.

Just did it last week, the Valet gave me a receipt. It had all the info on it. Checked my cc later in the week and all was fine. Really a good way to return a car.

So if I rent a car at MCO and drive to the Dolphin, can I return the car to the valet when I get there - I know the office will be closed as we won't arrive until late in the evening. I'm getting a rental price of less than $30 and that would allow us to stop at DTD on our way from the airport. We won't need the car once we're there and we're switching over to BCV and taking ME back to the airport. Has anyone dropped off the car after rental office hours like this?

We are renting with National. We are planning on picking up or car at the Dolphin and returning it to MCO. Do the have Emerald Aisle there?

We could get a cheaper rate from Alamo. Is there any difference between National and Alamo?

Thanks!!

There is NO EA at the Dolphin. When you go to the desk, they will give you a car according to your reservation. I have asked what cars are available and been able to pick a 2 door.

National and Alamo are owned by the same parent company. I believe National is geared toward business travelers vs. Alamo toward leisure. I just go by the best rate.

HTH!!! :teeth:
