Any tips on whether there are advantages / disadvantages to renting from the Car Care Center versus the Dolphin?

We're staying at All Star Movies. We will be picking up mid-morning aroung 10:00 am (rather than opening) to align with our drop-off time so we don't pay for an extra day.

The day we pick up we will be starting our day at MGM Studios. So, I've reserved a car from the Dolphin location for the time being but I've only ever picked up from the Car Care Center before.

You made the right choice, IMHO. It's very easy to get from MGM to the Dolphin via those boats. Also, since you're picking up mid-morning, the Dolphin location's shorter operating hours won't affect you. The only benefit that I can think of for going to the CCC to rent a car is that they have longer operating hours, but that's not a consideration if you're picking up between 8 AM-4 PM at the Dolphin.

Just walk into the lobby and the Alamo/National desk will be on the left side (as you look toward the back) in its own room. Do whatever paperwork is required, and then a valet will pull your car around to the front of the Dolphin. When you return the car, just drop it off at the valet area (and tip the valet) and go on your way via Disney transportation. Easy as can be.

I had a car reserved at the CCC. We'll be at POP. But, when a decent deal came out, I changed the pick-up to the Dolphin since we'll be at Epcot that afternoon and evening. I'm hoping that I can get the car and then park it someplace at the Dolphin until it's time for us to leave the park.
The only issue I have with renting at the Dolphin is that they close earlier than the CCC.

we were at the pop in dec and had the shuttle pick up dh to take him to teh care car center
he was gone 30 minutes and was back with the car it saved us a ton of money instead of pciking up at MCO

Since the valet people will be bringing your car out to you, maybe you could just pay the valet cost and have them park your car in the valet lot for the rest of that day. When you leave EPCOT that night, walk out the Intl. Gateway exit to the Dolphin, or ride the boat if it's sitting there waiting (if it's not waiting then walking will be faster), and pick your car up from the valet people.
