I currently have a full size reserved at 186 (includes taxes) for 8 days in January. Is this a good rate? When will DC coupons for this time come out? What should I consider a "good" rate from them to be?

The DC contract code has "rolled over" with the same contract number for at least three consecutive calendar quarters. It usually shows up on the DC web site and in the DC newsletter by the end of the month prior to the then current expiration date. Thus I expect to see a new expiration date for the contract code by the end of November. I have already booked a reservation for the first week in January (1/2 through 1/9) using the code and it was accepted by the National EC web reservation engine. I also put in the current coupon number for one free weekend day and this too was applied to the booking. My rate for a 7-day rental is $137.49 with all taxes and fees included. If I add an extra day, the total goes to $162.96. You can always try booking another reservation using both of the current codes while keeping your current reservation until you know for sure that the contract/coupon codes are still valid for the period starting January 1 and then cancel whichever is not going to be used.

although the coupon is being accepted, be careful. It has the expiration date right on it, and they are asking to see them now.

You need the coupon (most of the time), your EC card, driver's license, sometimes the credit card which is linked to your EC and sometimes even your DC card. It all depends upon the attendant.

I booked in Aug. for 3 days Apr'02 at a super low rate using DC contract/coupon discount because the National Website accepted both. I then received a United Airlines 1 free day coupon good thru Apr 30 '02, and rebooked/cancelled (same low rate) last time the rates were down. I'm guessing that Disney/National will continue to extend the dates on the discount codes, but I'm more comfortable having a reservation that is booked with a valid coupon. (assuming they continue to offer the DC contract discount):)

Personally, I think they will continue the contract code. However, I think that they might eliminate, or change all together the coupon. They've already added the new limits to it with restrictions, blackouts and capacitycontrol. Just my thought that something will change.

where do I find the contract code for DC for National? not on any papers I have here.

With EA does AAA work?

Thanks

A few months ago (really bored at work) I did a test and tried submitting the contract discount codes for biztravel, AAA, DC and EC. I didn't try Discover Card or Capitol One. None of the contract codes showed any change in the daily or overall rate. DC provided a visible discount and the EC contract code lets you pick a full size car for the intermediate price.

DC contract code starts with a"5" is found on the DC member's site under 10% off your National rental.:)
