Nathan's Hot Dogs

Warning, don't buy this stuff then.

One of my favorites... Peanut butter, cheese and Potted meat sandwich! I don't eat it often, but always enjoy it. To me it's a lot like Liverwurst. I hate liver, but, love liverwurst. Another thing that is a rare treat.

LOL!!! That is EXACTLY the product I was thinking of when I said "partially defatted beef fatty tissue."

I love the name of that canned "food" item. I guess there's no euphemism that Libby's could come up with that wouldn't run afoul of a dozen FDA or USDeptAgriculture regulations.

Sadly, more and more products that I used to buy are now including that mechanically separated crap in order to remain at a reasonable price point. Armour Brown 'n Serve sausage and Mama Lucia frozen meatballs are two that come to mind. Same with the "pepperoni" on some frozen pizzas.

P.S. I pity the poor photographer who had to take that picture. : )

I can't post the link, but apparently Armour, not Libby's, is "America's #1 Choice" for potted meat food product connoisseurs.

I agree, too, that Nathan's suddenly got so greasy! We buy Hummel's now (not sure if those are regional or not). Expensive but worth it to avoid thinking what could be in the hot dogs! :)

I mainly buy them too. Every so often I buy deutchmachers (sp) but I mainly stick to hummels. They plump up so nice!

Hmmm........I just had a ball park hot dog for dinner, and I am not feeling well from that and now to see the potted meat.....:lmao:
