Nate's Wish Trip MAW/GKTW Hoping for May 2013

We are extending by two days and will have to move from GKTW. I thought about Disney, but they are so overpriced and I don't know if we will have used our three days before then.

Thinking of staying near Universal or Aquatica/Sea World.

Any suggestions?

We extended to The Palms, They treated us like royalty!

We leave April 29th. Our limo is here at 3:15 am.. oh boy. We plan on staying at GKTW our first day to relax and swim, soak up some sunshine. It snowed here today...

We will swim at Discovery Cove on our 2nd day and hit Disney on the third day. Luckily we have Disney Dollars to ue from our Disney Chase credit card that allowed us to book at the Contemporary for two nights at the end of our trip. This is definitely a once in a lifetime trip as we could never afford the Contemporary... ouch. I am so excited for Nate. His trach stoma is closed, his port is out and he is doing great.

Any last ideas or tips? Couldn't get into Chef Mickey's as all the reservations are taken up. MAW tried and couldn't get in either.

We didn't get a reveal the wish party, but one of our wish granters is meeting us at the airport dressed as a favorite Mouse that we all know.... I can't wait to see Nate's face. He will escort Nate from the front door all the way to his gate.

Wonderful that you were able to book the Contemporary. Sorry you couldn't get CM reservations. Wish I had been able to post sooner - you could try for a reservation once you're there, they often have last minute cancelations.

So glad that Nate is doing so well.

Sorry you didn't get a reveal party. How wonderful about the character greeting at the airport.

Our trip was cut short by two days. Nate became ill with an upper respiratory infection. I'm so glad I followed my gut and called Make a Wish and had them change our flight. I was so tempted to wait it out, but as the day went on he got worse. Our trip was indeed magical and if I can impart any words of wisdom to our future wish trippers is DON'T go to Magic Kingdom on the day of travel or the day after. We thought Nate would be ok the day after and it was a disaster. I will post pics soon, but GKTW was everything everyone says it is and even more. You just can't describe it unless you experience it. We had lots of rain and tried very hard not to let it ruin anything but it did stand in the way of many things. I didn't want to leave GKTW. Thanks for everyone's input. I have offered to become an ambassador for Illinois families. I hope I can help someone else.

Sorry Nate got sick, and you had to come home early :hug So glad you had a wonderful time. Sorry about the rain. Wonderful that you're going to be an Ambassador. We're in IL too.
