I took pictures of the process of making them, too. I cut the Mickey heads using the Mickey font cartridge and I cut them out of clear contact paper. I cut the Mickeys at 2.5" for the ladies shirts, 3" for my DH's shirt, and 2" for DS's shirt. I wanted the Mickeys to look in proportion to the shirts.
I used the outline cuts of the Mickey heads to get the solid colored heads and the mickey heads them selves to make the white Mickey heads (KWIM?) Be careful with the spray on the ones you want to be solid. If it sprays outside of your contact paper, you will get a very distinct outline of the contact paper on your shirt! Try to spray really close to the shirt to avoid this and remove the contact paper before spraying the rest of the shirt. Oh yeah, and have cardboard inside the shirt to avoid bleeding through to the back of the shirt.
contact paper stuck on shirt with one spray inside a solid mickey head:
solid mickey heads sprayed and some contact paper removed (see that slight edge near the black mickey? That's what I'm talking about -- try to avoid that!)
spraying the white mickeys:
After I sprayed around the mickeys that were going to be white inside, I carefully peeled off the mickey which had paint beaded up on the back of it and used it like a stamp to make a mottled looking mickey. That just kind of occurred to me when I saw how the paint looked on the contact paper. You can see how those mickeys look on the finished **** here:
I let the shirts dry for 24 hours, then I washed them in cold water and put them in the dryer on low. After all that, I ironed on my DIS-igns by Natalie that I printed on white transfer paper. I think they came out pretty cool!
