Nasty surprise in the post yesterday!!!

Yesterday I received a letter from DHL Worldwide Express informing me that I owe them £23.
At the top it says "This is an invoice for Customs Duty and VAT on goods recently delivered to you by DHL. This money was paid by DHL to Customs on your behalf in order to expediate clearance and delivery on your goods". It goes on to say that immediate payment is required. I received this parcel on September 2nd.
The reason I am mad is because when I ordered this parcel (Tigger costume) from Disney Direct in America it did not say anywhere on their website that I may be charged extra at customs. Maybe I should have realised this myself but I didn't. I know its only £23 but I had already paid nearly £25 on postage.

Why does the postman never bring me nice things?

Its a pain.
Dp orders WWF/WWE wrestling belts from america,and everytime they arrive we have to pay £25 pounds at the door.
It costs a fortune,but to him its worth it!!

Iknow exactly hoow your'e feeling, i ordered a leotard, tshirt and a pair of shorts for DD totalling $57.I emailed the company to ask how much it would cost to ship them to Britain-$20 they said.
Postman knocks with the parcel and a bill for £27.83!!!
I emailed the company back and was told that they assumed i knew about the customs charge and the $20 was their charge for getting it to the airport. I wont be doing that again in a hurry!!
Oh well we live and learn eh???
