On September 15th, husband and I tried Tokyo Dining for the first time. The staff was very hospitable. Our request for window seating for Illuminations viewing was honored and service was excellent. I would have preferred a Bento box if it had still been available. I chose the Tuna Tataki and the Spicy Crunchy Roll with a standard white wine (seems there were only 2 whites to choose from, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio?). The Tataki was very tasty and I would order that again. The roll was fine; not exceptional. We both ordered a dessert cocktail (strawberry cupcake something or other)...ok for sipping during the fireworks.
It would be difficult to choose Tokyo Dining again since we enjoy other Epcot restaurants more. For a sushi craving, Kimonos is far superior and I like their intimate lounge-like feel. For a standard sushi roll, we enjoyed Katsura Grill and atmosphere just fine in the past. Don't feel the need to pay elevated table service prices and tips for the standard stuff. And the next time we want to try for Illuminations viewing during dinner, we'll stick to Rose & Crown.
