Nasty incident leads to great problem - need advice!

One other thing to consider…the restroom situation at BLT
in a 2 bed there are 3 full baths which is awesome if you are in a pinch trying to get everyone out the door in a timely manner
I think the same is true at AKL too in a 2 bed but others may be able to chime in to verify

It is true- we have stayed at Kidani in a two bedroom. It would be useful, if we invite another family.

That’s terrific news. I hope the other family with a special needs child was somehow helped as generously. That is so uncalled for from a bus driver. Clearly there are people who should not be working with the public. Resort pick wise - I think BLT would be my pick. Unless you’re really staying around the resort a lot, Club Level is nice but not super worth it to me. BLT TPV is great. Nothing beats watching the park “wake-up”. Love the amazing views, fireworks, and just ease of access to monorail & parks. Plus the gorgeous lay-out!!!

The style is not my style usually but I like it
Walk to Magic Kingdom
Monorail or boat to other resorts for dinner or drinks
Monorail to Epcot
Close to everything
Fireworks - you can watch at resort
Like the pool
If DVC you can do the Contemporary pool too! I’ve done a cabana there! Loved their pool area
All in all I really like the resort
I owned at AKL since it opened ( just sold those points)
And I own at Beach Club
My next vote would be Copper Creek - another great resort but can’t walk to MK but the resort theme - AMAZING ❤️

BLT 2 bedroom is so gorgeous. I’m a suburb cookie cutter living person so being in that downtown style penthouse high rise suite and seeing those fireworks from the balcony was epic

That is correct at AKL-Kidani (not Jambo)

Better remember to book …for BLT , mid-August , maybe attend the Halloween Party or wait for the Holidays to plan return trip.
Then I might consider Copper Creek because everybody loves the Wilderness Lodge for Holidays… but if it was me…I would BLT and visit all the other resorts for the holiday spirit. Don’t forget the new fireworks for the 50th.
Sorry this happened and truly hope the other guests will also have future memories to dream about.
Please keep us posted with updates! And a trip report…

On a recent visit we noticed all kinds of busses (not Disney marked) at the bus depot at MK. As our bus was approaching our stop where we were waiting, one of those busses pulled out right in front of him. Boy was he angry when he stopped for us. I asked about all the “other” busses and he said they were upgrading all of the on board communications systems and were taking their busses off line to do so, a bit at a time. But you know what they say about info from bus drivers. Maybe they are short handed like everyone else. But apparently they are not Disney employees. That is too bad about what happened. I’m glad Disney is trying to make it right.

WOW. My heart is breaking for that poor family. I would not have handled it well at all. Mama Bear would definitely have been seen. Glad to see Disney stepped up.

We spoke to the other family as they were leaving and she said they’d been told that they were being comped a stay. I’m glad, because they were more impacted than we were. I forgot to mention that the next day Disney also sent a dessert platter and two plush Minnie Mouse dolls to our room for our kids. It was lovely! I was very pleasantly surprised that we were comped as well. I’m thinking BLT sounds like a great experience! My only concern is that I really love the peace and theming at AKL, and I think that would be similar at BRV.

Boulder Ridge would be my first choice of those, the grounds are beautiful.

Sorry this happened.

Thank you, everyone, for the advice and comments! I’m going to call later today with two questions- can I do a split stay? And, would it be possible to change the dates if we decide we want to or something is available later. For instance, if we book for late August, can I change it later if something actually is open at Christmas time?
For now our thinking is that we’ll book at BLT and try for a theme park view, since it looks like there’s decent availability there. If by some miracle there’s availability at BRV at Christmas, we’ll change, if we’re allowed.
