Had a dolphin encounter reservation but iam thinking of cancelling it because i think my kids are to young 4 and 6 and i don't want them backing out of it when we get there. If we cancel we will have a free day in Nassau. Are there any must sees with a 4 and 6 year old? Any beaches close to the ship that are safe? Appreciate all the help.

we enjoyed catamarran sail and snorkel but my parents watched the kids... you have to be 5 I think to do that excursion... we're going to try and do Blue Lagoon Beach, heard it was really nice

I would stay on the boat. It is nice to have the ship mostly empty. You can eat whenever and also go to the movie theater or just go to the pool.

We did a day excursion to Atlantis and it was really disappointing and I wished I had stayed on the boat and enjoyed all the great service Disney provides.

What disappointed you? I am curious because my IL really want to visit Atlantis during our cruise next year.

We took the 'paid' tour which was a shuttle bus over to Atlantis plus a "tour" and then we were free to check out the Aquarium and the resort.

The issue was the total disorganization of the tour. I think we paid almost $100/pp and when we arrived, Atlantis sent us on a goose chase to get our 'bands' we needed to get access. They didn't bring anyone to us but gave us vague directions to walk and find it. There was a group of 6 of us and we had a baby with us. We walked the entire casino and got to the other side to find a group of youngsters who worked there who said that the person with bands had left.

So we burnt a good hour of the tour just 'waiting' and I found it to be a bad experience. Plus, the aquarium was really kinda sad and there weren't a ton of 'animals' to see and we ended up going back to the boat early and trying to get back to a better environment.

So personally I didn't feel like it was worth the hype and maybe if you are going to Atlantis to 'do' something like pay to swim or do the Dolphins it'd be different but just to 'see' it wasn't impressive. Felt like a cheaper version of any Vegas casino.

We are looking for the Aquaventure... But thanks, we'll know not to expect much from the aquarium.

You can do a beach day at Blue Lagoon, which does not involve an animal encounter. The rideover is nice, the beach is lovely, the food's not great. Both the colonial Hilton and the Melia resorts have beaches where you can purchase a day pass. I've not been to the Hilton, but I've heard good things about it, it's walking distance from the ship. The Melia is really lovely, and a quick cab ride away.
