Our cruise will stop at the Nassau for a day. Any recommendation on the good shore excursion? TIA!

Personally recommend the Greyclifff Hotel Chocolate Factory Tour. Receive a guided tour of the factory, then make your own chocolate creations to take back
to the ship with you. The chocolate is delicious and shipped all over the world from this factory. They will provide a bag for you and you'll have no problem bringing them onboard. Fun
tour for the whole family.

We did Discover Atlantis (https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/nassau-bahamas-discover-atlantis/) which was great! You get to walk through two huge aquariums with a tour guide and have access to the hotel. The tour was mostly families with children of all ages and they seemed to enjoy it. You honestly don't have to stay with the tour guide and can go at your own pace if you want. We are also looking at the Beach Day and Discover Atlantis (https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...bahamas-atlantis-beach-day-discover-atlantis/) which is probably what we are going to do on our upcoming cruise!

How long did it take to see/do everything you did?

we loved blue lagoon. we did the dolphin encounter in the morning then got to spend the rest of the day at the beach. The water had some deep spots and some sand bars that were only inches deep out in the middle of the lagoon, it was perfect for us.

I'm not sure that I remember exactly, but with the tour guide I would say around two hours...maybe even an hour and half. That's not including the bus ride to Atlantis which takes around 20 minutes because the driver takes you on a sort tour of the city which was really interesting! The bus was full, but it wasn't crowded or hot or anything like that. After the tour guide left we went through one of the aquariums again and then spent some time in the casino before we headed back. I think they said the buses run to and from the port every 15 minutes so there is usually always an opportunity to hop on a bus and head back when you're ready. Honestly, one of the nicest things about paying for the Disney port adventure is that you don't have to worry about the travel to and from Atlantis.

Is there a fee to go into the casino at Atlantis? Other than what money we may lose, that is.

I agree. Especially for those ages. One side is a calm lagoon that is no deeper than 6-7 ft. The other side has some open water that can be adventurous depending on the season and weather.

Not 100% sure but I think the other beach (open water) is now a closed VIP section.

I am a HUGE fan of staying on the ship in Nassau. No crowds, can ride slides/go to pool/enjoy kids' club, etc. Nassau is not one of my favorite ports. If you've never been before, you may want to get off and look, but you're not missing much if you stay on the boat (IMHO).

We LOVE Atlantis!!! My kids and I had a blast on the waterslides, and the crazy river! We used Marriott Reward points to book a throwaway room in February, so it was virtually free, minus the resort fee. We just did the same thing for our cruise in September.

On our first cruise about 5 years ago, it was empty on the ship, most people got off. Now I feel like everyone stays on!

We walked to the pirate museum and then stopped by the straw market before getting back on the ship. It wasn't expensive and was an interesting experience.
