Nassau security zone

We are meeting friends in Nassau- can someone help identify a meet and greet spot for us? Does the security zone end at the gangplank? I have read references to a Welcome center- is that immediately (steps) from debarkation?
If parking is difficult for them, should we wait wherever taxis are? Or is there a better spot?

We just did the same thing in December, we were on DCL and our friends were on a RCI ship. If your friends are on a ship, it's very easy to just meet at the exit to the gangplank. Just figure out which one of you is docking first and arrange a time to meet. We just sat outside the gangplank to their ship and waited for them to disembark. If your friends are in a hotel in Nassau you could ask them to meet you in the building that you must walk through to get from the ship to the streets of Nassau. You must go through a small security check to get into the building then walk thorugh (there are shops) to exit to the street. It should be very easy to meet them there. Have a great time!

Could you clarify whether our friends, who are residents of Nassau, will have to go through security to enter this "Welcome center"...which sounds like a tourist trap ;-).
Alternatively, is the street side of this center a clean, safe place to wait for pick-up with young children? Or would the confusion of so many passengers disembarking in one spot make it too difficult?
