I am considering the Dolphin Encounter for our excursion to Nassau..My question is if we leave the ship at 9:15 and go to the Dolphin Encounter..what time do you get back to the ship? Do you have enough time after you return to the ship to go shopping in Nassau? What time does the ship usually leave port?
We were thinking of going shopping and maybe eating at topsiders that night so rushing back to the ship wouldnt be a problem----or should we scratch the shopping experience? Also, does anyone know how far away the Hard Rock Cafe is from the port? Has anyone been? Thanks for all the help anyone can offer!!!!

I heard from other cruisers that the Dolphin encounter on Nassau was not worth it since it was barely an "encounter" at all. It's not exactly the way it is described, but I'm sure someone can give you their experience here.

Generally the ship leaves Nassau fairly late ~11:30PM. I didn't care for the shopping that much. As far as the brand named higher priced things go....I would be afraid they were counterfeit. The DCL does offer a list of approved stores, but then, their prices aren't THAT much cheaper. The straw market is a bit of a sad and scary experience. When we went, it was moved from its normal location...at least that's what the sign said. It was in a huge, dark and stuffy tent. It was filled to the brim with locals selling ...basically all the same stuff. It was sad to see the older women dozing, practically passing out in the heat along with the kids laying on the dirty floor. Some of the younger merchants are pretty aggressive, hawking their t-shirts and trinkets.
