I am traveling as part of 2 families of 4. We will have girls 9,8,7, and 6. Is Atlantis the best option vs blue lagoon? If we only do a 1/2 day Atlantis activity is there enough near the ship to do on our own or are we better off doing a full day? TIA!

I can't answer your question. I had a similar one about 1/2 day Nassau activities near the ship, and no one has chimed in on mine either. Makes me wonder if there's a Nassau secret we don't know about. :worried:

Come on people! Help out some first time cruisers with what's up in Nassau!!

What does your ideal day look like? Beach time? Shopping? Water slides? Food?

We were most interested in beach time and had a great, relaxing day at the British Colonial Hilton with a day pass. It was significantly cheaper than going to Atlantis plus we didn't have to worry about transportation or being there at a specific time. But, we weren't looking for anything more exciting than sun, water, and a quiet day.

Based on their TripAdvisor reviews we have actually booked a private charter (outside of DCL) with these guys on our next cruise.

We considered all of the other alternatives and for our family (4 Adults and 3 Children 14,12 and 2) it looked like the best of both worlds. They have been great to work with and will customize things to your preference in any combination of sightseeing/fishing/snorkeling and private beach time that you would like. Last time we went to Nassau we had stayed on the boat and we are very much looking forward to this excursion.

Thanks everyone. For ease I believe we will be staying with one of Disney's port adventures. I am more looking to see what is available to do right by the ship that doesn't have to be booked ahead of time. I have been to Nausa before, but it was 10 years ago with adults only. Will the market keep us buy for a while? Is there a public beach or a good restaraunt or will I be better off staying on an all day port adventure.

Honestly, my ideal day is to just see a bit of Nassau. We're not so into sitting on the beach that we want to do it here and at Castaway Cay, so CC will be our beach day. Once you get past the tourist trap right off the boat, is there anything more to see? Is 1/2 day enough time to wander around a bit?

Just curious if you've been on your cruise yet & how you liked using Island Time Charter? TIA!

My husband and I visited Atlantis last time when we were in Nassau; it was a beautiful resort, indeed, but we honestly felt a little out of place and didn't spend more than a few hours there (We didn't plan excursions here so we just wandered.) It was also a lot of walking when it was warm, which I found unpleasant, and catching a cab back was a little odd, too. We considered doing the day pass for the pool this round, but we opted to try the Blue Lagoon excursion through DCL. There are many YT videos on it that convinced me it's worth trying at least once. Even though I have not tried Blue Lagoon yet, I would opt for it over Atlantis. It's all personal opinion, of course. :)

Yes! The island Time Adventure Excursion was excellent! The crew customized our excursion to best meet our needs and interests. We did the half-day which consisted of snorkeling, sight seeing, and private beach time. The crew provided us with a variety of drinks and snacks. They were very personable and insured that we had a wonderful time with our family. Our two year old granddaughter still talks about the beach and the "boat" from our cruise in March. I would highly recommend this excursion in the Bahamas.
