My family will be taking a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas in October. We have an 11, 7, and a 2 year old. I'm debating between the blue lagoon or discover Atlantis excursion. Or would it be better to venture out on our own? Also, I have read that Nassau has gone downhill. Should we consider just staying on the ship? Thanks

A 2 year old is a tough crowd, we did nassau with a 2 year old this year, and stayed on the ship. Its the older kids you need to placate. The two year old didn't know what he was missing.

I had a 1 year old and we stayed on the ship. Now that DD is 2 years old, I still see us staying on because there's no excursions she qualifies for and I don't think we'll get much entertainment from the small side shops off the dock. i don't see her caring much about it unless she was a little older.

take advantage of the less crowded on-board water activities ... our little one got the splash area all to herself :)

We went with a 10 yr old, 7 yr old and 20 month old, and next time we will DEFINITELY stay on the ship. I did not feel comfortable around Nassau personally, and the baby missed nap. It was hot and a total a nightmare to put it nicely.
