Nassau day at Atlantis

I know I have read some info on this question, but I would like some info please... we are going to Nassau on the wonder (did this last year also) but this time the kids want to see Atlantis and do the pool area.. ( It was that MaryKate and Ashley video that got them hooked!) I would like to know what others have done with this day trip? Do the Disney one, or rent a room at Comfort Inn or even at Atlantis so that they can experience the WHOLE thing there?? I know you can purchase tickets, but does that give you access to the whole thing- They would hate to be sitting on a beach area looking in... thanks in advance as always.

We were at Nassau on April 22 during our Wonder cruise this year and did visit Atlantis. We rented a room at Comfort Suites and never did go to it. It seems that the only way to access the pools is to be a guest at either Atlantis or Comfort Suites; there were CM's checking id's at every entry way to the pools areas.

Check-in at Comfort Suites was very quick. This is a pretty expensive day when you add in the room cost (total with taxes etc. was $220 AAA rate) and taxi cost ($16 each way) for the four of us. But we did take fruit and boxes of cereal from the ship and saved some $ on food. And none of us wanted any more than that to eat after a big buffet breakfast before leaving the ship.

We had a great time touring the aquariums and lagoons and spent the rest of the day at the water slides pool. We walked through the casino but never did go to the beach area.

The highlight of our time at Atlantis was tubing and body sliding through the shark tank.
