Has anybody done the day pass at the Sheraton Resort in Nassau? I understand it's $25/person, and include use of the pool and showers.

Us too! I also heard you can get a day room for $99. Can anyone comment on if this day room includes food and alcoholic beverages or is it just for the room? Thanks.

I just emailed them to inquire about day pass option. I don't think we need a room so just use of the facilities would be fine for us. I wonder if there are two options....room with use of facilities for one price OR just use of the facilities for a lesser price?

I will post their answer when they get back to me.

I have been trying to find out also and this is what I came up with from a different board...(cruise critic - much discussion about the subject under Bahamas)

The Sheraton has passes for $25 pp for use of their facilities (beach, pools, restrooms, etc). Children under 12 may or may not be 1/2 price (Some say yes, others say no). You also have access to the Wyndham next door (some say yes and some no on this also. Non-motorized beach toys are free to use on the beach.

The day room is $99 for 2 people, $10 extra pp. For a room and lunch it is $145 for 2, $10 for extra.

You can also get a day pass at the Wyndham for $40 (includes access to the SHeraton), and this includes lunch. From what I gather, children are the same price.

You can either take a 10-15 min taxi for $4 pp or the #10 Jitney us for $1.25 pp which drops you off right out front. THe price is each way.

I also read about the hotel that is within walking distance from the pier (I believe the Hilton) and it is $40 pp with a $30 voucher for drinks and food.

We are going in less than two weeks, but I have not decided what we will be doing. If we go to either place (Hilton I believe or the Sheraton/Wyndham) I will be sure to let you know my experience. I know we will not do the Atlantis.

One note...there is a casino at the Wyndam if anyone is interested. Funny thing is, it is illegal for Bahemian residents to gamble there.

Please let us know what you find out. We are going the week of 11/16, and I'd love to have first hand info.

Hopefully you have better luck getting an e-mail response. I e-mailed several days ago, and have got nothing back yet.

Good to know not to expect an immediate response, if any!!! They must be on island time!!! Maybe I should contact the main reservation number...I wonder if they would have into on the individual resort day passes and such.

How do you book the day passes or day rooms???

On the CC boards the posters are reporting you do not need to pre-book. You can just show up, pay your $$$ and enjoy the resort. I would think if you want a room though, that may be different.

The Hilton mentioned above it the British Colonial Hilton. Easy walk from port. Follow the coastline just past the straw market.

We have gone there 2 years. Nice and easy. Maybe $35 last May for the adults and half price for the 6 year olds. They give towels. Pool and beach. Bar at the pool that serves food but we haven't eaten there. Bathrooms that are bearable and you can see the Disney ship from the pool.

We like it because we don't have to put the kids in a cab without car seats but the newly renovated Sheraton pool and slide does look like fun! And they have rafts that you can borrow for the pool.

That is one reason why I am having a hard time deciding between the Hilton and the Sheraton/Wyndham..... Sheraton looks much nicer and is more kid friendly, 3 big pools, nice beach, can go next door to Wyndham, etc. Hilton, no cab or Jitney, close to shops, can actually go back to ship and eat if you want... what to do! :rotfl:

I don't think you can pre-book the daily rooms either. I have still recieved anything back from the e-mail I sent the Sheraton.

I think we will try the Sheraton since we don't have any kids on this upcoming cruise.

Do the pools at Sheraton have water slides? I can see that Wyndam does but don't see any pics of slides at Sheraton..thanks!

Just checking to see if anyone has more info? I know that pyramid2000 was suppose to travel shortly after posting...have you traveled yet and which did you visit?

I still dont see any photos/info on a new pool/slide at Sheraton...can someone link me to where I can see this info? A slide would be great for my boys.

Thanks!

Kim

I don't have any pictures, but I'll also be traveling in a couple weeks, and plan to check the Sheraton out. I'll post my experience.

Super thanks! I see that the Wyndam has a water slide but not Sheraton. Not that there MUST be one but it would be a nice feature!!

As I said above I'd post an update after my trip to the Bahamas last week. We cruised on Royal Carb out of Port Canaveral.

We did make the trip to the Sheraton last Wed. We took the number 10 bus as this thread discusses and did cost $1.25 each way. The walk to the bus from the ship was a bit further than I expected. Don't get the wrong impression that it's a far walk, but I expected the bus to be just outside the port area. You have to walk a few blocks to find it. I believe it was on the corner of Bay and George streets. It was probably a 15 minute bus ride.

We actually did the day room for $99.00. We figured if we were going to spend $50 just to get in we'd want a room for a bathroom and shower. The room location was on the first floor and just outside the side door was the beach. It was a great location for the day, but if I was staying for multiple days the room location wasn't very good. The view stunk. You have access to the until 6 pm.

The beach was very nice. Some locals selling their wares, but they weren't pushy at all. The local pushing drinks was a bit annoying at times, but he left us alone after we told him no the first time.

The pools were nice. They had one empty as they were doing some maintenace. We mostly hung on the beach and swam in the ocean. Hardly any seaweed at all. The water was nice.

The Wyndam is right next door. As others have noted there really isn't a clear dividing line between the two. We did walk over to the Wyndam to check it out, but that was it. The pool water was really cold when we stepped into it.

We had lunch at the pool bar. It was a bit expensive. I think lunch cost the two of us around $40 with tip. We did get one round of drinks which was around $20 for two pina coladas.

We ended up leaveing shortly after 5 PM. The bus runs until 7 PM, but I'd check for sure when you go.

We didn't take the bus back, and we took a cab which cost us $15 for two.

Over all it was a great day, and I'd go back again if given the chance.
