We're having a couple of people over for the Daytona 500 and was thinking of doing something theme oriented for the food. Does anyone have any cute ideas? Any help would be very much appreciated! :)

No suggestions, but the idea sounds a good one:D

Have fun:hyper:

The only theme we go with for our Daytona party is

PASS
the nachos and corona (course the first has to be a BUD)

BUT, if you're serious about your racing, you'll be product sensitive for your choice of refreshments.....:)

Have a great time Sunday! I can't wait!

You could make a car cake........frost in your favorite drivers colors and use Oreos for wheels. Make jello shots....green for green flag/lights and yellow for cautions/yellow lights. Make a sliceable sugar cookie....add cocoa to half the dough then split all the white dough into 5 square tubes and the chocolate in 4 square tubes the arrange in a checkerboard pattern and refrigerate. Then slice and bake for checkerboard patterned "flags"

Check out this website:http://www.party411.com/theme167.html It has some great ideas. I like the corporate pavilion/hospitality booth idea (think Conceirge tables). I also know that some drivers like special foods, like last year Jeff Gordon says that on qualifying day they always have corn dogs or as he called them "Qualifying Corn Dogs", says it brings him luck (where was the luck yesterday:mad:). Kraft is the sponsor on most Rousch teams, they have a lot of products including Oscar Meyer, they own Nabisco now, etc. They even have some recipes on their site .)http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/ff/Tailgating/tailgate_fever_recipes.htm Beer wise - obviously Bud but also Miller Lite and Coors and for those who don't drink beer but want liquour there is Smirnoff Ice (Sponsor of Matt Kenseth). Coke, Pepsi and Mt Dew are all sponsors too. Don't forget a big bowl of M&Ms (Sadler's sponsor).

Have fun ;)

Boo's Mom....I LOVE your sig and avatar!!!;) :D

Thanks so much everyone! Such great ideas, I knew my DIS friends would be able to help. :) ToriLammy - those websites are really great - things I didn't even think of! Thanks again everyone :teeth:

Do you bake? You could make checkerboard cookies or cake. The cookies are easier, IMO. Try's Woman's Day magazine's website for the recipe. We always have layered taco dip for for tortilla chips and BBQ (sloppy joes).
