NASCAR FANS - Pick Your Top 5 for Richmond

CINDERALLAFIFI!!! How DARE you steal my winning week away from me????? Just Kidding;) ;) :D

Great job picking! I'm just glad that JR won!!!! I think I did pretty well on the Budweiser pool again also!!!

What a Saturday. First I had to work from 2:00PM until 11:30 PM D-Jaying a wedding. I had my DS tape both the Flyers hockey game and the race. I came home and watched both in fast motion and couldn't be happier. The Flyers win 3-2 thus enabling me to utilize my game 6 tickets in Philly. Then JR wins the race! How much better can it get?

Tony needs more guidance from Joe Gibbs. I know Joe and he has a huge affect on Tony. Don't get me wrong, I love Tony and wish him nothing but the best. Bobby Labonte can make a difference in Tony's life (in Joe's absence) but Tony must see Bobby as a spiritual person and not just a teamate.

 Congrats, Cinderellaffi!

It's always nice to see Jr. in the Winner's Circle ::yes:: :smooth: .

I missed the pre-race stuff. Could someone fill me in on what Tony Stewart said to DW?

Looks like Tony is going back down that road again.....

I've been a fan of TS since his rookie season in Cup. I watched his interview before the race and was disheartened by his comments towards DW. I didn't bother to watch the race, and Richmond is one of my favorite races, and I think it was partly due to Tony's current behavior on air. As to what's going on with him on the track...only he and his crew know for certain if he's being overly aggressive. As a fan I think he is in Kurt Busch's position of two years ago (a la Jimmy Spencer), he's been in the wrong place at the wrong time for the past three races.

:cheer2: Congrats, Cinderellaffi & Jr.!

I agree...What's up with Tony? I must of missed something with him.
Did anyone watch Nascar 360? I loved it!!!:teeth: Can't wait until next Friday!!!!::yes::

I saw part of 360 Firday? night, featuring Kenny Wallace and Kevin Harvick. I think it is a much needed look in to the lives of the drivers. I don't think fans can grasp how crazy the life of a pro racer is.

Congrats Cinderellaffi.

I'm with Ginny. I think Stewart's comments were justified. I didnt think they were mean or even that rude. I felt like he was sticking up for himself. That's one if the things I love about him, he doesn't take crap. I thought DW's attitude toward Tony changed after the interview and he actually seemed to be treating him more fairly. I'm sorry but I just don't think saying the guys are on Fantasy Island and he's waiting for Tattoo was so mean, it was kind of funny.

CONGRATULATIONS CINDERELLAFFI!!

That was some mighty fine pickin'!

Your score was awesome....i'm thinking it may be the lowet one yet.....

We watched 360 too....it was a good show...

Did anybody else think it was too funny to see Kevin Harvick shoveling dog doo? :)

Well, I thought that was kind of funny also. What I did not think was funny (and I am para-phrasing here, don't remember exactly) was when he made the comment that DW abused the champion's provisional during his last 2 seasons racing. That that was the only way he could get into races. Just not a nice thing to say to a 3 time champion. But that's just my opinion. :D .

I can't BELIEVE I am defending Jaws!

It was the part about DW's last 2 years of racing and the championship provisional that was mean and uncalled for. It was an insult that was not necessary or even relavent. Sure, speak up about DW "picking" on him that's fine, it's relavent and he has ever right to tell DW that he thinks he's being unfair. The ironic thing is that yes DW had written an article on May 4th suggesting that maybe NASCAR should suspend Tony but on May 14th (the day before the race) he wrote another article saying he was wrong about suspending Tony. Guess Tony didn't see that one.

I was wondering if he has a neighbor on the other side of that fence and if the neighbor was watching ;)

I didn't see that part. We were down the shore all weekend and I only caught bits and pieces. Like I said, I heard the Fantasy Island part which I thought was funny. I hate to see any of the drivers feel picked on or being insulted. Hopefully this will all blow over but I did hear Jeff Gordon wasn't to happy with Tony so maybe it won't anytime soon. I was in bed and missed the incident betweem them but when DH being a Gordon fan came to bed I woke up long enough to hear Jr. won and Stewart is a **** for screwing Gordon but I took that with a grain of salt because he likes Gordon and doesn't really like Stewart at all.

I was thinking the same thing. I really liked the parts about Kenny Wallace and his family. They have their own reality show in the making. When he didn't qualify and his wife was crying I felt like crying. It was really cool to see the drivers being real. I really enjoyed it.

Congratulations CINDERELAFFI!

Geesh looks like we missed another good race, We went camping at Fort Wilderness for the weekend!
:teeth:

DH was happy Jr. Won

Sounds like Stewart was at it again.

We like DW in our family, glad I didn't see any of that.

When was that 360 on? Sounds like it was good.

360 came on right after the race. My husband had seen it already and commented about the interaction between Harvick and his wife. I watched it for about 5 minutes and had enough. Those 2 made me nervous!

Hey Penskesth1 we were camping this weekend too in Cape May NJ. I wish I was at Fort Wilderness.
NASCAR360 was on Fri. night at 10:30 on FX. They also ran it over the weekend. This week it's on Fri. night at 10:00. I really enjoyed it.
As far as DW goes we like him too and knowing him he handled the issue with Tony just fine. From what I hear Mike Joy seemed to take it more personal then DW. DW dishes it out and I'm sure he can take it. :D

I'm with you Muushka, I had enough of them real fast. They seem to enjoy picking at each other. I guess it's just the way they are and it's all in fun but it would drive me nuts. I'll say it again, I really like the parts about Kenny Wallace and his family. His wife seemed very likable. Rusty's parts were good too but Harvick, UGH.

I wish the part with Kenny Wallace had come on first. I am not too crazy about that guy and people here on the boards and my husband said that it presented him in a very good light. I want to like him! Maybe next time.....IF they don't show the squabbling Harvicks!

Not to belabor the Tony incident, but did anyone else read the "Cheers and Jeers" (Carol Einarsson) lady's comments? I thought I was rough on him!

JEERS to Tony Stewart's childish behavior. Slamming DW with the champion's provisional? I've never been more embarrassed for a guy than I was for Tony, not having a single clue how he was making himself look to millions of people at one time. Just like a child, Tony's defense seemed to be to attack the other guy with something that's both irrelevant and below-the-belt. The look on Darrell's face wasn't embarrassment, Tony, it was disappointment. Like all the rest of us, too. Disappointed in what you have become, and the new low you've sunk to. How very sad that a guy with promise can throw it all away because his mouth and his attitude fills viewers with disgust at the very sight of him. Darrell isn't the problem, Tony. YOU're the problem, dear boy. Even after the race… after four hours in a hot car, driving in circles bumper to bumper at speeds more than twice what the average person will ever drive, the first thing on Tony's mind is STILL Darrell Waltrip. Get OVER it, Tony! If that display before the race wasn't unsportsmanlike and detrimental to the sport, I don't know what is. I can only hope that before the clock struck twelve, Mike Helton had the rat by the collar, and was carrying him off to the woodshed out back.
