Nascar fans...need timetable

Hi all! I have a quick question about this Sundays race. The race is being held in Loudon, NH (2 towns over from me ), but we don't go because getting in and out of that track is a traffic nightmare! In fact, we always leave town the weekend the race comes. LOL Trust me, you would too!!!!
Anyways, we do have to travel back in that Sunday night to be somewhere for 6pm.
How long usually is this race? I know it starts at 1:30 and of course anything can happen to delay a race, but typically what is the time frame?
I have a feeling that we will be travelling straight into a traffic nightmare!!!
What do you think??????

I think your feeling is well founded. The race actually starts at 2:00 PM this year. If you get a clean race (no cautions) it should last about 3 hours. That is very unlikely IMHO. That would give the folks at the track about an hour to start to clear out and you would be smack dab in the middle. If there are a couple of cautions you are looking at a 3 1/2 to 4 hour race and you will once again be in the crunch. Sorry it's not better news but it is probably pretty close to the truth.

Your best chances are to try to arrive while the race is still going on with about 100 laps remaining. There will only be a smattering of traffic then. I'm sure you can find a radio station that carries the race or a TV if available to monitor the laps.

Not sure about New Hampshire, but at other places I've seen the race tends to last around 4 hours.

6pm is probably not the ideal time to be around there, unfortunately.

I love racing, but I usually miss watching this one because we are away! LOL
