Okay, I have narrowed it down (at least for today) to either POFQ or POR. We have stayed at POFQ before and we absolutely loved it. I really liked it because the resort was so small and like everyone else after walking all day in the parks I don’t want a long trek to my room. So why not just stay there again, you ask? Well, POR looks pretty too, especially Aligator Bayou and I would like to try something different. I was not initially that impressed with the Magnolia buildings but they are growing on me. The rooms still look just like any other hotel I have stayed in. A sit down restaurant is not that important to us (just me and DS15) as we will eat most of our meals in the parks or the food court and if we just have to eat at the sit down restaurant at POR we can always walk over. The pool at POR looks fun even though DS is a little old, and lord knows I am, to be on the slides. So help me out here. Which would you choose?

I've stayed at both resorts and enjoyed each for different reasons. POFQ is smaller and has an easier feel to it. POR AB was great too. The food court is also smaller and calmer at POFQ. But, at POAB you have the option of a sit down, although not a favorite of our family. We preferred the pool theming at POFQ as it was also a calmer, quieter pool due to the layout. We found it difficult to stay at the themed pool at POR due to the noice and chaos of kids running and jumping in at will. The pool at POFQ appeared to be better monitored and had a nice poolside bar. Either way, you can't go wrong! Happy decision making! :flower:

I think you made a wonderful choice (so far!)

I did want to mention about the POR pool - there is a tiny little island in the middle of the pool, that the teen boys hung out on and did "cannonballs" off of all day!!
My 10 yr old was a little young for this group, but they welcomed him and he had a blast.

It was just nice to see the little kids near the slide area, and then older kids in a different section around the corner.

We wanted a AB room, but ended up in a Mansion - which turned out to be very nice.
Enjoy your trip!

(PS.. here is the pool!)

BIG vote for PORiverside - either the Mansions or AB.

It is awesome there. We honeymooned there and spent many years at both once the kids came along.

In May we stayed at both, firstat POFQ, me with dd9 and ds7, a week later dh and dd2 and ds12 joined us so we switched to POR. If walking will be an issue stay at POFQ. I don't think I will go back to POR just because of the layout of the resort. It is beautiful but the paths were so hard to figure out, all the buildings looked the same and I always felt lost. We were in the furthest building in the back and that probably did not help but it could be a long walk from many buildings. POFQ was a dream, just a minute to the food, pool or bus. It was quiet and very homey. I thougt the rooms were very similar, just a different colour pallet and wood, same layout and ammenities. So my vote would be for POFQ, hands down

LOVE POR but I think both are really nice, so I can see it's a tough choice.

You can't go wrong with either but POFQ gets my vote. I don't like all the walking at POR. We''ve stayed there twice and six times at POFQ. POFQ is my favorite Disney resort.

If you loved FQ due to the small size, you probably would be a bit disapointed with POR. it is more spread out.

But Riverside has quiet pools, which FQ does not have.

We love both, have stayed at FQ twice and POR 3 times, all Mansions.

Either one is great.

My choice would be POR. We stayed in December and will be staying there again in October. We did walk over to POFQ for some beignets one morning and to check out the resort. It's actually TOO small for me. We stayed in the mansions and were right across from the quiet pool and laundry, with a short walk to Ol' Man Island, the food court and a bus depot. I think POR is one of the most charming places on WDW property...I could stay there and enjoy myself even without park tickets! :flower:
