We were able to be the fourth group to see the new Narnia set attraction today. It opened about four o'clock. It was raining, but luckily the que was covered. Each group consisted of about 150 people, and you have 15 minutes in the attraction. The attraction starts in front of a large cabinet door. After a brief introduction, the doors open to a winter scene with a large movie screen at front. You view an extended Narnia trailer, then you move through an impressive, but small, set. Finally, you are able to view about ten movie props. All in all, it's interesting. However, it seemed more of a promo than a movie attraction. It might have worked better a couple of months ago instead of the day of the movie opening. Below are some pics.

One of the few movie props (the White Witch's sleigh).

Thanks for the pictures!

We're reading the book with our older girls and plan to see the movie in the next few weeks with the girls (and maybe our son). For anyone whose seen the movie, what's your view on the appeal to DS3.5 who loves the Incredibles and Kim Possible (probably would not have allowed our eldest to have watched this series at 3.5 but with the older siblings...) but is afraid of Shrek (particularly the dragon)?

In any case, we plan on hitting this exhibit during our trip in January.

I saw it last night with my 9 and 13 yo. We all enjoyed it, but I did "squeel" in a couple of parts when the wolves popped out. Some people had brought their kids that looked like 3 or so, and they were crying. it looked like they were the youngeest in a bigger family with older sib's too. I'd see it first myself, and then decide it you thought your child would enjoy it.

Do you know how long that will be at WDW?

I'm wondering the same thing, we'll be there in May.

We saw the movie last night and it was very good- surprised it wasn't pg-13 though.

dpic thanks for the pics! I was hoping for something more from Disney though :confused3 . T-i-double-g-err Althought the story is for a younger set, the scary situations and special effects are very similiar to the Lord of the Rings. If he is bothered by Shrek I would think this is a no go. See it first, and then decide. Why not read the book to him also? Then he would know what to expect. My dh read these to ds when he was 3 and he loved them, ds read them for himself when he was 7-8. Of course, dh read him the Hobbit and LOTR books when he was 4, and ds read them to himself when he was 8-9, so maybe we're just wierd? :teeth: It's great that you read with your kids, whatever you read! BTW if your girls like fantasy and comedy, you should try The Wee Free Men and The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchet, I love these  . All the adventure without the heavy drama. Just be careful, he does mostly adult fiction set in the same realm, still silly, but not for young kids.

Oops!, what I meant was The Wee Free Men and The Amazing Maurice he wrote for children, his other books are more mature, just wanted to clarify.

Thanks for the pics! Does anyone have anymore? When does this attraction close down? We are leaving this week for Disney, so I think it should still be there. I will make sure to take plenty! I loved the movie!

I can't see the pics.

Also is this the exact set of part of the movie? If so, which part?

Saw the movie Friday night. Just incredible!

Thanks for the pictures, I wish I could go to Disney World and see it in person( but I don't think we will be going to Disney World until Dec.06 and by then it will be gone am sure).

My friend and I are going to see the movie tonight though, we can't wait!!!!!

Thanks!! I was just going to post a question about whether anyone had seen it yet when I saw your post.

Thanks for the info, my dd's and I saw the movie today and loved it. We have read the books together and they read them alone as well.

We have one day at WDW and planned to spend it in Ecpot. Do you think it worth a trip over to MGM for a while to see the set? Or shall I take a chance it will still be open for our longer February trip?

As for the poster with the 3yo - IMHO, no. I probably would not have taken my 8yo if she had not read the book already.

We did see many a young child leave and heard some crying, many intense scenes.

It is an intense movie at points (for small children). There are parts where things "jump" out at you, and there is "darkness" (I mean darkness/evil) in the movie, along with very loud scenes.

Also there are "animals" (they are Computer generated but look real) that get hurt and/or killed.

By the way, if you are non Christian you still will LOVE this movie but if you ARE Christian you will DEFINATELY see the story of the resurrection and other biblical references in this movie as I believe CS Lewis was a converted Christian.

I thought it was pretty good, my 10- and 8-year-old kids loved it.

dpic, We saw the exhibit first thing in the morning yesterday (Saturday the 10th). We were specifically told NOT to take photos of the exhibit.

How did you get pics? We were there and they said we were not allowed ANY pics at all???

I can't speak for the original poster, but when we saw it on Friday, nobody said not to take any pictures or video. I saw others taking video, so I pulled out my camera and starting taking some video, mostly of the set (some people kept filming the trailer, but I didn't see the point in doing that). After a few minutes, a cast member did go around and tell people to stop. So I think perhaps they forgot to mention it in some of the first few showings.

It could be that they will allow pictures after the movie has been out a bit.
